OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 22 (Ticker) -- All-Stars Ray Allen and
Rashard Lewis played like they were in mid-season form.
Allen scored 20 points and Lewis added 18 as the Seattle
SuperSonics posted a 108-95 preseason triumph over the Golden
State Warriors.
The Sonics trailed, 44-37, midway through the second quarter but
Allen, held scoreless to that point, responded with 11 points
and Lewis chimed in with nine over the next 7 1/2 minutes to
give Seattle a 60-50 lead, which it never relinquished.
Ronald Murray, who had four points during the burst, finished
with 16 and Nick Collison collected 17 and 10 rebounds off the
bench. Starting center Vitaly Potapenko did not play for
Seattle because of a left hamstring strain.
Derek Fisherscored 19 points for the Warriors, who were playing
without starting center Adonal Foyle (left knee tendinitis).
Another key member of the frontcourt, power forward Troy Murphy,
was not with the team due to the stomach flu.
Latvian Andris Biedrins filled in for Foyle and collected eight
points and 12 rebounds. Backup center Zarko Cabarkapa added 14
points.
