Camby collected eight points, one assist, two blocks and three rebounds as the Nuggets closed the first quarter with a 19-5 run to take a 27-14 lead. A dunk by Carmelo Anthony with with 1:46 left in the half pushed Denver's edge to 50-31.
The Spurs rallied in the third period behind All-Star Manu Ginobili, who scored 10 of his 13 points in an 18-5 spurt. Bruce Bowen's layup cut the deficit to 62-58 with 4:30 remaining.
San Antonio got no closer as Boykins scored four points in an 11-4 burst that finished the quarter and added 11 more in the fourth period to seal the victory.
Playing their sixth straight game without superstar Tim Duncan, the Spurs surrendered 46 points in the paint and were outscored, 27-7, on the fast break.
Tony Parker scored 17 points on 8-of-18 shooting for San Antonio (53-19), which dropped its fifth consecutive road contest and fell two games behind Phoenix for the top seed in the West.
