NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics put the longest winning streak in the NBA on the line Wednesday in a place they have had some success in when they visit Madison Square Garden for a matchup with the New York Knicks.

The Celtics, winners of seven straight, have won five of their last seven games in New York, including a 107-73 rout here on November 6.

Boston has recently taken control of the Atlantic Division and takes a 5 1/2-game lead into Wednesday's game after a 113-100 win over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday.

Ricky Davis scored 27 points and Paul Pierce added 23 in a victory that improved the Celtics to 2-0 on their three-game road trip.

Boston improved to 11-1 since acquiring Antoine Walker on February 24, has won five straight on the road and has scored at least 103 points in six consecutive games.

The Knicks will be looking for a much-needed win before beginning a five-game road trip on Friday. They sit 3 1/2 games behind the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference after an 88-75 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday.

Stephon Marbury continued a hot streak with 31 points and 10 assists and Malik Rose added 18 points against his old team. Marbury is averaging 25.5 points on 51 percent shooting over his last four games.

With a win Wednesday, the Celtics will sweep the four-game series with the Knicks for the third time in four seasons.
