SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The injuries are mounting for the Seattle
SuperSonics, but so are the wins.
Winners of four of their last five, the Northwest
Division-leading SuperSonics will likely be without All-Star Ray
Allen on Tuesday when they host his former team - the Milwaukee
Bucks.
Seattle's leading scorer at 23.9 points per game, Allen sprained
his right ankle late in the first quarter of Sunday's 102-100
victory over the Los Angeles Lakers and did not return.
His loss added to the injury woes for the Sonics, who were
already without center Jerome James and forwards Danny Fortson
and Vladamir Radmanovic.
Flip Murray replaced Allen in the lineup and scored a
season-high 25 points and Rashard Lewis scored 27 for Seattle,
which holds a comfortable 10-game lead over the Denver Nuggets
in the division.
Allen did not practice Monday and coach Nate McMillan told the
team's website that while Allen would still be a game-time
decision, it was unlikely that he would play against the Bucks.
James and Fortson are also game-time decisions, while Radmanovic
- on the injured list with a stress fracture in his right
fibula - could be out for the remainder of the season.
The Bucks opened their five-game road trip with a 114-103 loss
to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Desmond Mason scored 24 points
and Michael Redd chipped in 23 for Milwaukee, which never led
in its fifth straight road loss.
The Sonics will be looking to erase the memory of their worst
offensive performance of the season, a 99-73 loss at Milwaukee
on February 27. Allen scored 16 points in his first game at the
Bradley Center since being traded to Seattle in February 2003.
Seattle scored just 10 points in the first quarter and shot a
franchise-low 29 percent (25-of-85) for the game.
