LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- A victory Wednesday over the Northwest Division-leading Seattle SuperSonics would give the Los Angeles Clippers the season series, but history is not on their side.

The Clippers have not taken the season series from the SuperSonics since the 1989-90 season. The Clippers also have not defended their home court well against Seattle, losing 19 of the last 22 meetings in Los Angeles.

In the season opener, however, the Clippers throttled the Sonics, 114-84.

Seattle was victorious in the opener of a home-and-home series, 104-99 at the Key Arena on Tuesday. Ray Allen scored 31 points and dished out seven assists in the triumph.

Rashard Lewis left the game in the first quarter with a right quadricep contusion but returned in the second half and finished with nine points in 24 minutes. His status for Wednesday's game in uncertain.

Vladimir Radmanovic added 18 points off the bench as the Sonics' reserves outscored those of the Clippers, 49-23.

Corey Maggette scored 20 points and Elton Brand added 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks as all five Los Angeles starters finished in double figures.
