AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The New Orleans Hornets attempt to win three straight games for the first time in nearly a year when they visit the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.

The Hornets have not won three consecutive games since February 2004.

On Tuesday, New Orleans ended a 15-game road losing streak with an 88-82 victory over the New York Knicks. Baron Davis led the Hornets in scoring for the fifth straight game, posting 21 points and 10 assists.

In nine games since returning from the injured list, Davis has scored just under 18 points per game.

Lee Nailon scored 18 points, including a baseline jumper with just over one minute remaining to give New Orleans the lead for good. P.J. Brown and Dan Dickau each scored 17 points.

The streaking Pistons extended their road winning streak to six games with an 89-80 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday. With the victory, Detroit has won eight of its last 10 games overall.

Rasheed Wallace produced 19 points and 13 rebounds and Ben Wallace added 11 and 11 for the Pistons, who outscored the Nets in the paint, 42-28.

Richard Hamilton scored 18 points as six Detroit players scored in double figures.

After managing just one victory in four meetings with New Orleans last season, the Pistons opened the season series with a 92-69 triumph over the Hornets on December 4 and will attempt to sweep it Wednesday.

In last month's win, Ben Wallace scored 22 points as Detroit shot a season-high 54 percent from the floor. Nailon paced New Orleans with 18 points.
