SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The first-place San Antonio Spurs will
try to rebound from a last-second loss when they host the
Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
The Spurs had an 18-game winning streak over the Utah Jazz
stopped Monday when Mehmet Okur's follow shot as time expired
lifted the Jazz to a 97-96 triumph at the Delta Center.
Tim Duncan produced 24 points and 13 rebounds and Tony Parker
added 20 points but was just 5-of-10 from the line. Parker's
backcourt mate Manu Ginobili finished with 18 points.
Despite the loss, San Antonio is 12-3 in its last 15 contests
and leads the Southwest Division by four games over the Dallas
Mavericks.
With a 103-80 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, the Bucks
failed to extend a winning streak to four games for the third
time this season.
All-Star Michael Redd scored just 10 points on 5-of-17 shooting
and Desmond Mason added 13 for Milwaukee, which shot just 41
percent (31-of-87) while allowing the Hawks to connect on 55
percent (43-of-78) of their shots.
Mike James came off the bench to lead the team with 14 points,
but center Dan Gadzuric played just six minutes and was taken to
a local hospital after complaining of stomach pain. He was
later released, but his status for Wednesday's game is still
uncertain.
The Spurs and Bucks split their two meetings last season, but
Milwaukee has not won in San Antonio since December 23, 2001.
