MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers hope to climb back to the .500 mark when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

After a 96-79 loss to Houston on Sunday, the Clippers dipped below .500 for the first time this season. Los Angeles started the season 11-7 but has dropped six of of its last seven games.

Corey Maggette scored 23 points, but he and Elton Brand did not play in the fourth quarter. Coach Mike Dunleavy rested his stars when the Rockets opened up a huge lead.

Guard Marko Jaric sat out for the second straight game because of a sprained right foot.

Memphis returns home after splitting a four-game western swing. Both victories came at the Staples Center, where the Grizzlies posted back-to-back wins against the Clippers and Lakers one week ago.

On Thursday, Memphis was handed a 109-102 loss by the Phoenix Suns, who have won 11 straight games and own the best record in the NBA at 24-4.

Mike Miller scored 22 points in the loss and Jason Williams added 21 as all five Grizzlies starters reached double figures.

Memphis posted its sixth consecutive win against the Clippers in a 92-82 triumph on December 19.
