Much to the pleasure of the
Memphis Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Lakers continued their
struggles in the state of Tennessee.

season highs - as the Grizzlies recorded their first win of the
season with a 110-87 rout of the Lakers.
Los Angeles absorbed its third straight loss at Memphis,
including a pair by 23 points apiece. Its last road win against
the Grizzlies was a 102-101 victory on April 4, 2003.
Memphis (1-4) had lost 12 straight games dating to last season -
its last four regular-season games, a first-round playoff sweep
at the hands of San Antonio and its first four this season.
, who scored nine straight points during a 22-8
run by Memphis in the second quarter, finished with 17 and six

in 12 for the Grizzlies, who led by as many as 32 points.
