EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 19 (Ticker) -- A second-half rally by the New Jersey Nets kept the expansion Charlotte Bobcats winless in the preseason.

Jason Collins scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Nets posted a 96-89 victory in a sloppy game that featured 69 personal fouls.

The Nets finished the third quarter on a 28-13 run to take their first lead since the opening quarter. Rodney Buford, who scored eight of his 13 points in the period, hit a jumper with 1.1 seconds left to cap the quarter, providing New Jersey with a 72-70 edge.

New Jersey's Richard Jefferson picked up four fouls in the first quarter and was tossed after receiving a technical foul late in the game. He scored 11 of his 14 points in the first half.

Getting his second preseason start for the Nets, Zoran Planinic added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Primoz Brezec scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Bobcats, who led by 13 points with 8:25 left in the third quarter. Gerald Wallace added 17 points and rookie Emeka Okafor posted 10.
