The only Sacramento regular in the game down the stretch, Jackson hit one free throw to draw the Kings within 88-86. After rookie David Hawkins' free throw on the other end pushed the Rockets' advantage back to three, Jackson hit a 3-pointer from the right corner to even the score, 89-89.
Hawkins turned the ball over on the ensuing possession, and Jackson hit a jumper from the baseline with six seconds left to give Sacramento the lead. Reece Gaines' desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer bounced off the front of the rim.
Juwan Howard, who was acquired from Orlando in the Tracy McGrady
deal, led all scorers with 15 points, while McGrady added 14 on
5-of-12 shooting.
