"My main goal was to be aggressive," Jamison said. "I wasn't aggressive in the two games (against Portland). I didn't want to do anything outside our offense, but I did want to be aggressive coming out of the box."
"They have three guys that can put up 40 on a given night, and tonight one of them showed that he was capable," Nuggets coach Jeff Bzdelik said.
Jamison made 17-of-24 shots and grabbed 14 rebounds in one of his best games of the season. He helped the Warriors snap a three-game losing streak and keep alive their flickering playoff hopes.
With just five games remaining, Golden State (37-40) is four games behind Phoenix for the eighth and final playoff berth in the Western Conference. The Warriors also trail Houston and Seattle.
"Five hundred basketball sounds a lot better than two or three games under .500," Jamison said. "In the past, we haven't had a reputation as far as finishing off a season. Guys have been planning vacations and their minds are already off the season."
"We still want to reach .500," Warriors guard Jason Richardson said. "It is still a possibility to get there. It would be a big turnaround for this team and would be huge going into next season."
Golden State won all four games from Denver, marking the first time it swept the season series since the 1991-92 campaign.
Juwan Howard had 24 points and nine rebounds for the Nuggets (17-60), who joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 60-loss club.
Denver lost for the ninth time in 12 games. It shot just 41 percent (42-of-102), a season-long problem that has not gotten any better.
"Offensively, we don't have enough firepower," Bzdelik said. "We don't drive, or put the ball on the floor to create plays, and it puts so much pressure on our defense because when we miss shots, they can run out on us."
Jamison's big first quarter helped Golden State to a 33-29 lead.
"I wanted to dictate what I wanted to do and not let them dictate what they (do) defensively as far as guarding me," Jamison said.
Defensive-minded Adonal Foyle scored five points in a 9-0 run that gave the Warriors the lead for good. His basket capped the spurt at 46-37 with 6:37 to play in the second quarter.
Golden State held a 61-51 halftime lead and Jamison helped the Warriors maintain that advantage with nine points in the third quarter.
"Jamison kept hitting big shot after big shot and we didn't have an answer for him tonight," Nuggets center Marcus Camby said.
A basket by Jamison gave the Warriors a 102-89 lead with 1:32 remaining. The Nuggets got no closer than six points thereafter.
"Once I started getting it going, my teammates did a terrific job as far as getting me in my sweet spots that got me open looks," Jamison said.
Troy Murphy scored 14 points and Richardson added 11 for the Warriors, who shot 49 percent (37-of-76) and held a 51-46 rebounding edge to overcome 21 turnovers. Foyle, Bob Sura and Earl Boykins scored nine points apiece.
Shammond Williams scored 14 points and rookie Vincent Yarbrough added 12 for the Nuggets.
