SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs try to extend
their home winning streak over the Boston Celtics to 12 games on
Sunday when they begin a five-game homestand at the SBC Center.
The Spurs have won 11 straight games against the Celtics, who
are making their first visit to the SBC Center. Boston has not
won a visit to San Antonio since February 14, 1990 at the
Alamodome.
The Spurs have swept the last four season series between the
teams and have won 15 of the last 16 overall meetings with the
Celtics.
San Antonio has played seven of its last eight games on the road
and had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 90-87 loss
at Portland on Thursday.
Stephen Jackson had 18 points and Parker added 17 as the Spurs
could not overcome a sub-par performance from Tim Duncan, who
had 12 points on 5-of-15 shooting and 12 rebounds.
San Antonio has won five consecutive games at home, where it is
14-3 this season.
Boston has lost six of its last eight games and fell to 1-1 on a
four-game road trip with a 103-78 loss at Dallas on Friday.
Paul Pierce scored 20 points and Antoine Walker was limited to
11 on 4-of-14 shooting for the Celtics, who were held under 80
points for just the second time this season.
Boston has lost three of its last four games on the road to fall
to 8-8 away from the FleetCenter this season.
