OAKLAND, Calif, April 5 (Ticker) -- Gilbert Arenas scored 25 points and fellow rookie Jason Richardson added 22 as the Golden State Warriors squandered a huge lead but posted a 108-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Arenas gave the Warriors with a 77-55 lead on a basket with 7:16 left in the third quarter. But the Nuggets roared back and tied it, 92-92, on George McCloud's 3-pointer with 5:06 remaining.

Calbert Cheaney's layup gave the Nuggets a 98-94 advantage with 3:04 to go, but Arenas hit two free throws and Antawn Jamison put the Warriors ahead, 99-98, with a three-point play with 2:30 left.

Juwan Howard gave Denver a 101-100 lead with a pair of free throws with 88 seconds left before Golden State went ahead for good, 103-102, on a 13-foot jumper by Arenas with 61 seconds remaining.

Reserve Bob Sura contributed 19 points and Jamison had 17 and eight rebounds as Golden State won consecutive games for the first time since December 22-26.

Howard finished with 27 points, Voshon Lenard added 15 and McCloud 12 for Denver, which failed to extend its winning streak to three games.
