SALT LAKE CITY, March 6 (Ticker) -- Karl Malone made his last five shots and scored 10 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter as the Utah Jazz dominated the final period en route to a 92-84 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

John Stockton scored 11 of his 19 points in the first half to get the Jazz off to a good start, but it was his long-time teammate and fellow future Hall of Famer who carried the team down the stretch. After missing his first eight shots, Malone did not miss in the final seven minutes.

Utah led by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter, but Los Angeles rallied and pulled within 84-80 on Derek Fisher's jumper with just under three minutes left.
