CHARLOTTE, NC, Feb. 15 (Ticker) -- The Charlotte Hornets' offense is starting to adjust without two of its top three scorers.

All-Star Baron Davis scored 15 points in the fourth quarter and tied a career high with 38 as the Hornets' offense was nearly unstoppable in a 116-106 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Charlotte has been without forward Jamal Mashburn since November due to an abdominal injury and placed guard David Wesley on the injured list prior to the All-Star break, forcing nearly 34 points per game out of the rotation.

After averaging just 84 points in their previous five games, the Hornets scored 113 in a rout of Chicago on Wednesday and shot the lights out en route to a season high against the Pacers.

Davis made 10-of-17 shots and 15-of-17 free throws as Charlotte shot 56 percent (42-of-77) from the field and sank 29-of-35 from the line. He made 2-of-3 shots and 10-of-12 free throws in the final period.

"It all starts with me," said Davis, who leads the Hornets is scoring, assists and steals. "I've been getting in guys' faces in practice. There is no reason we can't get an eight- or nine-game winning streak."

"Baron really had it going tonight," Pacers coach Isiah Thomas said. "When a guy like that gets it going, it's tough to stop him. He's done that to a lot of teams this year. He's the complete package."

The Hornets never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 12 early in the fourth quarter. But the Pacers rallied with a 10-2 run and closed within 92-88 on Austin Croshere's layup with 8:14 remaining.

But Davis followed with four straight free throws and, after a jumper by Indiana's Jalen Rose, Elden Campbell and Lee Nailon sank back-to-back jumpers to give Charlotte a 100-90 cushion with 6:06 to go.

The Pacers got within six twice in the final 5 1/2 minutes, but Davis made a clutch 3-pointer with 3:57 left. The Hornets made 9-of-12 free throws in the final 3 1/2 minutes to seal their fifth win in seven games.

Campbell and Nailon scored 23 points each and combined to make 17-of-25 shots as the Hornets snapped a six-game slide to the Pacers.

Jamaal Magloire scored 11 points off the bench and P.J. Brown grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Charlotte to a 46-34 rebounding advantage.

"We got a lot of production from a lot of people," Charlotte coach Paul Silas said. "As Baron goes, we go. When he's going, it puts so much pressure on the other team. I sense we're coming together. If everyone keeps producing as they have been, we'll be in great shape as we start getting our players back."

Croshere finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds and Reggie Miller scored 21 for Indiana, which had not lost to Charlotte since January 24, 2000.

Just three days after coach Thomas hinted his team was soft, the Pacers lost their fourth straight game. They have dropped 11 of 15, including five of six on the road.

"We're just not good as a team right now," Pacers center Jermaine O'Neal said. "As players we're not doing a good job. It's not so much execution, we just have to give more effort."

Rose and reserve Travis Best scored 18 points apiece and O'Neal recorded 15 and nine rebounds for Indiana, which had its only lead at 50-49 with 2:09 left in the first half.

Davis scored 16 points in the first quarter as Charlotte made 12-of-22 shots and took a 32-23 edge. O'Neal scored eight in the second period as Indiana rallied and got its only lead on a jumper by Croshere.

Magloire gave the Hornets the lead for good, 51-50, on a layup with 1:54 to go in the opening half.

Charlotte went into halftime with a 56-52 edge and was clinging to a 64-61 lead early in the third before going on a 16-6 run. Davis, Campbell and George Lynch each scored four points during the stretch, which gave the Hornets their biggest lead, 90-67, with 3:16 left.
