SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 1 (Ticker) -- Chris Webber returned with a vengeance, scoring 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Sacramento Kings their 18th straight home victory, 132-96 over the Denver Nuggets.

Webber missed Thursday's win over Seattle after receiving a one-game suspension and $7,500 fine for intentionally elbowing Utah rookie Jarron Collins on Saturday. But the All-Star power forward was named the Western Conference's NBA Player of the Month earlier Friday and shot 10-of-15 from the field.

"This was a good game for us," Webber said. "We needed this. Now we've got a challenge on the road (a four-game trip), so it was good to get this win and get some rest tomorrow and get ready for these next few games.

"Right now, it's like there are no more excuses. This is the way we would like to play, and this is the way we want our execution to be. Right now we are just trying to play well and make that all we do. We can't let other things make us play well or not make us play well."

Mike Bibby scored 21 points and All-Star Peja Stojakovic had 20 as the Kings posted their fifth tip-to-horn win this season. They improved to 35-10 overall and 25-1 at home, both league-best marks.

"This was a nice win before we hit the road," said center Vlade Divac, who scored 10 points. "I think it was a good game. We were active from the first minute. It was easy in the second half. We knew we had to come here tonight and play our game. They are a dangerous team; last week they beat the (Los Angeles) Lakers. We didn't want to let them do the same thing to us."

Sacramento fell one point shy of the NBA season high, which it set against Phoenix on December 23. It was matched by Dallas last Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

"Obviously, we were really good offensively," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "After the first quarter, we really started picking up offensively. We kept them down. We really moved the ball."

All 11 Kings who saw action scored as Sacramento shot 51 percent (44-of-86) from the field and 78 percent (35-of-45) from the line.

Raef LaFrentz had 16 points and 11 rebounds and James Posey scored 13 points for Denver, which has lost three in a row and four of five.

"That's a buzzsaw," Nuggets coach Mike Evans said. "They just made every shot they put up. When they're shooting like that, they can beat just about anybody. We played pretty good, shot 47 percent in the first half. That's pretty good for us and against any other team we're probably still in the ballgame. But against this team, no shot."

The Nuggets have lost 10 straight visits to Sacramento.

Denver's Nick Van Exel, who came in averaging a team-leading 22.1 points per game, managed just five on 2-of-4 shooting but dished out seven assists.

"They put a bigger guy, Doug Christie, on me," Van Exel said. "And I was going with our bigger guys on Mike Bibby. I thought we had the advantage in the post there."

A basket by Stojakovic gave the Kings a 29-19 advantage with 4:42 left in the first quarter, a double-digit lead they never relinquished. Sacramento finished the first half with a season-high 71 points and owned a 20-point bulge.

"We had an awful first quarter," Johnson said. "they set the tone early on us. Anytime you come out and give up 40 points in the first quarter, you're in for a long night, especially against the best team in the NBA. I don't think the intensity was there defensively or offensively from anybody. They were pretty much in control of the game the whole night."

The closest Denver came in the second half was 77-51 on LaFrentz's 3-pointer with 9:32 remaining in the third quarter. But Webber hit a pair of free throws, Divac blocked a shot by LaFrentz and Christie hit a turnaround jump shot.

Webber had 12 points and six rebounds in the third quarter, which Sacramento finished with a 103-73 lead.

Sacramento's Bobby Jackson came off the bench to score 15 points while fellow reserves Gerald Wallace and Scot Pollard contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds, respectively.
