SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 29 (Ticker) -- Neither the Charlotte Hornets nor the San Antonio Spurs could buy a bucket, but the Hornets were slightly more opportunistic and handed the Spurs their third straight home loss, 78-73.

Reserve Bryce Drew had 15 points and Campbell added 13 and 10 rebounds for Charlotte, which shot 36 percent (29-of-80).

Duncan collected 29 points and a season-high 21 rebounds for San Antonio, which had not lost three in a row at the Alamodome since a four-game skid at the end of the 1996-97 season, the team's last before Duncan joined the team as a rookie.

It was Duncan's first 20-point, 20-rebound performance this season and the eighth of his career. He his 35 double-doubles in 2001-02.

There was a bomb scare at the Alamodome after the game, preventing players and coaches from meeting the media.

Steve Smith had 11 points but was the only other Spur in double figures. San Antonio shot 34 percent (25-of-73), including an abysmal 19 percent (4-of-21) from the arc.

The Spurs was just 3-of-22 from the floor in the fourth quarter.

San Antonio opened a 26-14 lead on a 14-foot jumper by Duncan with 2:46 left in the first quarter. Charlotte responded with a 13-2 run that stretched into the second period, grabbing a 44-43 halftime lead on a layup by Jamaal Magloire.

The Hornets extended to a 54-47 advantage on a dunk by Davis with just under eight minutes remaining in the third quarter, but the Spurs scored the next eight points to regain the lead -- their last -- at 55-54.

San Antonio was center David Robinson, who did not dress due to a right quadriceps contusion. He averages 11 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
