SEATTLE, Jan. 19 (Ticker) -- Gary Payton and the Seattle SuperSonics proved that a return home, coupled with more efficient shooting, was what they needed to re-establish their dominance over the Denver Nuggets.

Payton had 25 points and 12 assists and Rashard Lewis scored 17 points as the SuperSonics routed the Nuggets, 104-77, avenging a loss 24 hours ago.

On Friday night, the Nuggets rallied for a 96-90 victory over the SuperSonics at the Pepsi Center.

Payton also tallied 25 points in that game. On Saturday, the Sonics shot over 52 percent (47-of-90) from the floor as they won for the 26th time in 28 home meetings with the Nuggets.

The Sonics also have dominated their overall series with the Nuggets, taking 22 of the last 29 meetings.

Nick Van Exel led the Nuggets with 28 points. Denver shot just 35.5 percent (27-of-76) from the field as its road losing streak grew to 13 games.
