LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers look to climb above the .500 mark for the first time in five years when they host the Orlando Magic on Monday night.
The Clippers have not had a winning record during a season since November 11, 1996, when they were 6-5.
Los Angeles defeated the Charlotte Hornets Sunday to even up its record for the fourth time this season, but have yet to get over the hump.
Corey Maggette scored 13 of his 15 points in the decisive first quarter and Elton Brand collected 22 points and a season-high 19 rebounds as the Clippers defeated the Hornets for the first time in more than five years, 89-78.
The Magic look to regain momentum after they were cooled down by the Atlanta Hawks 107-104, Saturday night, snapping their four-game winning streak.
Orlando dismantled the Chicago Bulls, the Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies by 42, 28 and 35 points, respectively, during an undefeated homestand prior to Saturday.
Tracy McGrady again torched Atlanta, leading Orlando with 40 points and 11 rebounds. He also scored 32 points Friday at TD Waterhouse Centre, where the Magic routed the Hawks, 129-94.
It is the first meeting between the two teams this season. Last season, they split the two games with each team winning at home.
Lamar Odom scored 17 points as the Clippers spoiled yet another Grant Hill return from injury with a 92-80 victory. Hill is once again on the injured list with a sore left foot.
Darrell Armstrong finished with 22 points and had a career-high 16 assists in the Magic's 114-101 triumph.
