DENVER, Oct. 24 (AP) -- James Posey and Isaiah Rider each scored 16 points as the Denver Nuggets beat the Chicago Bulls 89-75 in an exhibition game Wednesday night.

Ryan Bowen added 10 points to help the Nuggets to their second victory in eight preseason games.

Ron Mercer had 26 points for Chicago (2-5). He had only nine points in the second half as the Bulls went 8-for-31 from the field.

Denver lost backup center Shawnelle Scott with 8:19 left in the second quarter when Scott slipped and fell on his head attempting to get a rebound.

The Nuggets opened the fourth quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 71-64 lead. Mercer's 3-pointer ended the drought with 9:15 left in the quarter.
