LOS ANGELES, Oct. 23 (AP) -- Elton Brand scored 24 points and Quentin Richardson added 20 as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Phoenix Suns 105-97 in an exhibition game Tuesday night.

Richardson scored nine points in the final 8:11 as the Clippers pulled away for their fifth victory in seven preseason games.

With the Clippers leading 85-82 after Brand's two field goals, Richardson and Corey Maggette scored 13 straight points to help Los Angeles take a 98-91 lead. Maggette finished with 11 points.

Tom Gugliotta led the Suns (4-2) with 19 points, and Shawn Marion and Penny Hardaway had 15 apiece.
