CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 23 (Ticker) -- Baron Davis scored 17 points and David Wesley added 16 as the Charlotte Hornets posted a 91-79 exhibition victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

Jamal Mashburn, playing his third straight game after missing the first five with a sore left hamstring, added 15 points for Charlotte (5-3).

The game was tied at 49-49 with just over seven minutes left in the third quarter before the Hornets used a 13-4 run, including four points from Davis, for a 62-53 lead.

Charlotte held a 48-39 rebounding edge, including nine by P.J. Brown, and enjoyed a 23-4 edge in fast-break points.

Atlanta (4-3) was led by Shareef Abdur-Rahim, who scored 14 points, while Dion Glover and Jason Terry each added 12. The Hawks shot just 37.2 percent (32-of-86) and made only 1-of-9 3-pointers.

Hornets first-round draft choice Kirk Haston finished with two points and three rebounds in nine minutes.
