Throughout the series, NBA TV will be on location in Los Angeles and New Jersey offering exclusive coverage and insider access to all the basketball excitement. In addition to complete post-game press conferences, the network’s live coverage of the off-day media availability - which will also be carried from start to finish - will offer viewers an exclusive opportunity to gain all comments and perspectives of players and coaches throughout the session.
NBA TV will also include live coverage of pre-game interviews, game highlights, expert analysis from New Jersey Nets’ announcer Bill Raftery and New York Knicks’ announcer John Andariese, running box scores throughout each game of the series and more. This marks the third consecutive year NBA TV has traveled to the NBA Finals to provide on-site coverage.
“NBA TV continues to be the ultimate destination for basketball fans looking for the most comprehensive coverage of the NBA Finals,” said Gregg Winik, Executive Vice President of Programming and Executive Producer, NBA Entertainment. “From our complete coverage of live press conferences, to special encore performances of games the following day, NBA TV will air around the clock providing fans exclusive coverage they won’t find anywhere else.”
During the NBA Finals, NBA TV will produce exclusive “Highlights at the Quarter,” sponsored by RealOne, for NBA.com. The video highlights, updated regularly throughout each game, will summarize the latest news and big plays from each game. Additionally, NBA TV’s complete game highlights, live press conferences and off-day media availability will all be simulcast on NBA.com and available to a global audience.
On-site reporters and network anchors including Mark Morgan, Bruce Beck and Dei Lynam will provide exclusive pre-game interviews and courtside reports before each game. During the games, NBA TV will broadcast up-to-the-minute statistics and current box scores. Post-game coverage will be highlighted by live broadcasts of press conferences with players and coaches from both teams, offering viewers a unique chance to see the press conference from beginning to end.
NBA TV will broadcast special encore performances of each NBA Finals 2002 game twice a day following the previous night’s action and vintage NBA Finals games throughout the month of June.
Produced by NBA Entertainment, and formerly known as NBA.com TV, NBA TV combines real-time statistics, scores, and news from NBA.com - the league’s Official Web site - with live studio programming, live “look-ins” of games in progress, game highlights, vintage NBA games and special programming from the award-winning archives of NBAE.
NBA TV is available to more than 10 million households on satellite through DIRECTV, the nation’s largest direct broadcast satellite service, and in more than 10 million homes with digital cable systems through iN DEMAND.
NBA TV is also now available through RealNetworks’ RealOne, the Internet’s first all-in-one media subscription service that provides access to exclusive content, premium services, and software.
