- ELIGIBILITY: FedEx Around The World Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited. Employees of FedEx Corporate Services, Inc., the National Basketball Association, its member teams, NBA Media Ventures, LLC, NBA Properties Inc, (the “NBA Entities”) and each of their parent and affiliate companies as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of their respective employees are not eligible to enter or win. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- SPONSOR: The Sweepstakes is sponsored by FedEx Corporate Services, Inc., 3640 Hacks Cross Rd. Memphis, TN 38125 (the “Sponsor”).
- AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling, as determined by Sponsor, all requirements set forth herein.
- ENTRY PERIOD: The Sweepstakes begins October 30, 2007 at 2:00 PM (EST) and ends July 27, 2008 at 10:00AM (EST). (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted prior to or after the Entry Period will be disqualified.
- . TO ENTER: Visit www.nba.com/fedex during the Sweepstakes period, register for NBA.com, and complete the Sweepstakes entry form. Upon successful completion of the Sweepstakes entry form you will automatically receive one (1) Sweepstakes entry. Once registered at nba.com and for the Sweepstakes, you may then vote for the top play made by an international NBA player, as presented on the site, to receive an additional entry. Click the “submit” button after viewing the video. Voting is not required for additional entries. For additional entries without voting, click the “skip the video and go to the Sweepstakes page” link and select the “click here to enter” button. Users will not need to register again for entry on subsequent days. Limit one (1) entry per person per day regardless of method chosen to obtain additional entries. In the event of a dispute as to any online entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Sponsor may, at its option, require satisfactory proof of email account ownership. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, misdirected entries; interrupted or unavailable network servers or other connection problems, failed phone or computer transmissions, or technical failure, jumbled, scrambled or misdirected transmissions or other error of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic, that may hinder or void your attempted Sweepstakes registration and subsequent entries. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor, and none will be acknowledged or returned. Your use of any automated sweepstakes or contest entry system, or a professional sweepstakes or contest entry agent, to submit entries in the Sweepstakes is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
- DRAWING: Potential winners will be selected in a random drawing as follows: Weekly drawings will begin Tuesday October 30, 2007 and be conducted every Tuesday through July 29, 2008. Weekly winners will be selected from entrants received from the week immediately prior to the drawing and will not be included in subsequent weekly drawings. The Grand Prize drawing will be conducted on or about August 5, 2008 from entries received from October 30, 2007 through July 27, 2008. The drawing will be conducted on Sponsor's behalf by Interactive Games, an independent judging organization whose decisions as to the administration of the Sweepstakes and the selection of the potential winners are final. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner at the address provided within ten (10) days of the drawing. If the potential winner does not respond within ten (10) days after the first attempt to contact him/her, the Sponsor will select an alternate potential winner in his/her place at random from all entries received.
- REQUIREMENTS OF THE POTENTIAL WINNER: The potential Grand Prize winner and their travel companion will each be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (the “Affidavit/Release”) within ten (10) days of being notified. If the potential winner fails to sign and return the Affidavit/Release within the required time period, an alternate entrant will be selected in his/her place in a random drawing of all entries received. If the potential winner’s companion is a minor (under 18 years of age), his/her parent or guardian must sign the Affidavit/Release on his/her behalf.
- PRIZES: Grand Prize, One (1). The winner of the Grand Prize at the conclusion of the Sweepstakes will receive a trip around the world for two (2) as specified herein. Prize includes two economy class airline tickets valid for a minimum trip of ten (10) days. Reservations are required a minimum of 30 days in advance of travel. The Airfare is valid solely on the routings of "OneWorld" Partner Carriers. OneWorld Explorer carrier terms and conditions apply and are subject to change at the discretion of the OneWorld partner carriers. At a minimum, a ticket must include three (3) continents, starting with North America as the outbound continent and can include four (4) continents if selected, from North America to South America to Europe to Asia and back to North America. Travel must be in a continuous eastward (or westward) direction. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute OneWorld for another carrier at its discretion. The airline ticketing fees may not exceed $14,700.00. Grand Prize also includes $3,000.00 for winner to use as spending money for the trip, awarded in the form of a check (ERV: $17,700 ticketing and spending money).
Weekly Prize - Forty (40). Each winner of a weekly drawing will receive an autographed jersey from one of the following at sponsors discretion: Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Peja Stojakovic or Luol Deng. Weekly prize has an approximate retail value of $100.00.
The Prizes are not transferable or refundable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash or other substitution may be made, except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute the Prizes with another prize of equal or greater value if the Prizes are not available for any reason as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Grand Prize Winner and travel companion guest must travel on the same itinerary. Dates of trip are subject to availability of flights at time of reservation. Some dates are restricted and not available. All expenses not specified are the sole responsibility of Grand Prize winner including, but not limited to, all hotels, meals, taxes, gratuities, visas, incidentals and transportation to gateway airport. All winners are responsible for any taxes and fees associated with receipt or use of any Prize. The Grand Prize winner and their travel companion guest will be required to sign a tax, liability and publicity release prior to travel. Grand Prize travel must be completed by April 30, 2009.
- PUBLICITY: Except where prohibited, participation in the Sweepstakes constitutes winner’s (all prizes) consent to the Sponsors’ and NBA Entities’ use of winner’s name, voice, likeness information and country of residence for the purpose of advertising, trade or promotion, in any media throughout the world, without further payment or consideration.
- GENERAL CONDITIONS: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Sweepstakes is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, that may cause the Sweepstakes to be disrupted or corrupted, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Sweepstakes to address the impairment and then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the unclaimed prizes at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Sweepstakes, or acting in violation of these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation or administration of the Sweepstakes may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree on behalf of themselves and their travel companion, to release and hold harmless the NBA Entities., and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees, and agents and Sponsor, its parent and affiliate companies and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of the entrant’s and the entrant’s guests’ participation in the Sweepstakes, or receipt or use of any Prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Sweepstakes; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, misdirected, or undeliverable entries (e) errors in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt or use of any Prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Sweepstakes, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, incidental, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
