1977
In 1977, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bill Walton fufilled their destinies with the release of Star Wars: A New Hope and the Portland Trail Blazers' first NBA championship.

In the ultimate battle, Obi-Wan Kenobi confronted Darth Vader and Bill Walton led his team to the Finals against the 76ers.

1980
In 1980, Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Luke Skywalker had to perform on their own to overcome their greatest obstacles with the release of The Empire Strikes Back and the Lakers' NBA Championship.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar led the Lakers to the Finals but was injured, leaving rookie Magic Johnson to lead the team. Meanwhile, Luke faced his fears alone as well.

1983
1983 was a year of redemption for Julius Erving and Anakin Skywalker in the release of Return of the Jedi and the Philadelphia 76ers' NBA Championship.

After falling short in the Finals three times prior, Dr. J had his best shot of becoming a champion. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker was destined to face his father in one last confrontation.

1999
In 1999, David Robinson and Obi-Wan Kenobi were aided by the help of a young apprentice in the release of The Phantom Menace and the San Antonio Spurs' first NBA Championship.

For Robinson, help came in the form of Tim Duncan, while Obi-Wan Kenobi met his future apprentice, Anakin Skywalker.

2002
In 2002, the Los Angeles Lakers and Jedi Master Yoda proved their dominance with the release of Attack of the Clones and the Lakers' third straight NBA Championship.

While Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal joined together to make another run at the title, Yoda took matters into his own hands.

2005
As the NBA Playoffs continue on TNT, the expectations grow as teams battle to reach the NBA Finals.

Likewise, the expectation is growing for the ultimate battles in Revenge of the Sith, in theatres May 19. Obi-Wan Kenobi must face his former apprentice and best friend, Anakin Skywalker, to save the galaxy but what must an NBA team do to claim the title?
