8	Dallas (8)	50-30	If Dallas tops Memphis tonight, not only will they claim the fifth spot and go a game up on the Grizz, they'll also own the all-important tiebreaker. Remaining: vs. Memphis; at Houston.
9	Houston (9)	45-36	Mark Jackson, 39 years old and averaging 2.4 ppg, posted 25 points and nine assists to lift Houston over Seattle on Monday, the team's third win in four games. Remaining: vs. Dallas.
10	New Jersey (11)	47-34	Jason Kidd and Kenyon Martin are back from injuries just in time for the Nets' playoff run and a likely trans-Hudson first-round matchup with New York. Remaining: at Miami.

13	Milwaukee (15)	41-40	Won four in a row to fend off Miami's charge on homecourt advantage in the first round, with former sixth man Desmond Mason averaging 19.0 ppg in April. Remaining: vs. Toronto.

21	Cleveland (21)	34-47	Cavaliers finally halted their free-fall (1-11 since March 19) with two wins over the Heat and Bucks, not surprisingly, with Jeff McInnis back on the floor. Remaining: at New York.
22	Philadelphia (22)	33-48	Philly made the race interesting when it won four of five to close March, but after losing five of its last six, the team will miss the playoffs for the first time since 1997-98. Remaining: at Orlando.
23	Phoenix (24)	28-52	The Suns have taken two straight over West playoff teams (Kings, Grizz), with the resurrected Antonio McDyess averaging 14.0 rpg. Remaining: vs. L.A. Clippers; at Utah.
24	Atlanta (25)	28-53	Maybe the opposition is taking Atlanta for granted, but the Hawks have won three in a row for the first time all season, posting 118.3 ppg. Remaining: at Boston.
