The essence of Nestlé Crunch Time was on display not once, not twice, but three times Thursday in the Lakers' memorable 74-73 victory over the Spurs. Kobe Bryant connected with 11.5 seconds left to give Los Angeles a one-point lead. Tim Duncan answered with what appeared to be a game-winning sprawling jumper over Shaquille O'Neal from the top of the key with just 0.4 to go. But Derek Fisher took Gary Payton's in-bounds pass, spun around and swished the buzzer-beating hoop that gave the Lakers a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Game 5 of the Nets-Pistons Eastern Conference semifinal took a long time to settle, but Richard Jefferson didn't mind the wait. He made the most of it, in fact, scoring 18 of his 31 points in the three overtimes that led to New Jersey's 127-120 win and a 3-2 series lead. Jefferson's huge block on a Chauncey Billups layup try in the final seconds of regulation appeared to secure the victory. Turned out it didn't, but RJ's big night was just getting started. By game's end, Jefferson had racked up 27 Nestlé Crunch Time points.
