Pulling out a victory didn't seem like a strong possibility for Steve Nash and the Suns late in the fourth quarter. They trailed by nine with just 3:26 remaining before the two-time MVP turned Dallas' home court into his personal playground. Nash scored Phoenix's next 10 points on a pair of 3-pointers, a layup and two foul shots. With the deficit trimmed to one, he went back to his familiar role of passer, finding Shawn Marion for the go-ahead hoop with 43 ticks left as the Suns hung on for a 121-118 road win in Game 1 of the West finals Wednesday. For his efforts, Nash earned 10 Nestlé Crunch Time Points.

Heading to Miami faced with a 2-0 deficit in the Eastern Conference Finals was not a prospect the Detroit Pistons wanted to think about. Thanks to some clutch play from guard
Chauncey Billups they won't have to. Detroit built an 18-point second-half lead in Game 2 on Thursday, only to watch Miami cut into the lead as the fourth quarter went on. Billups helped the Pistons put the game away, converting a layup with 46.1 seconds remaining and sinking 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in the final 23.8 seconds. The last of his four free throws closed the scoring and gave Detroit a 92-88 victory with the series heading to Miami for Game 3 on Saturday. Billups tallied 18 points, eight assists and nine Nestlé Crunch Time Points.

The difference between very good players and elite players is how they perform at the most important moments. Dirk Nowitzki's play toward the end of the Mavericks' 105-98 win over the visiting Suns in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday proved he belongs in the latter class. Nowitzki scored 12 of his 30 points in the final 10 minutes, including a reverse layup with 1:36 left that extended his team's lead to 98-91. The 7-footer sank four free throws in the final 77 seconds and grabbed a key rebound with 20.9 ticks to play that assured Dallas would head to Phoenix for Game 3 with the series tied at one game apiece. Nowitzki shot 12-of-21 from the field, corralled 14 boards and earned nine Nestlé Crunch Time Points.

Dwyane Wade was on fire from the start of Saturday's Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals and that didn't change at all down the stretch. Wade, who scored 20 of his game-high 35 points in the second half, netted five points and assisted on another bucket in the final 1:53 of Miami's 98-83 victory over the visiting Pistons. Detroit cut a 12-point deficit in the final quarter down to one before Wade helped put the game out of reach. He connected on a pair of free throws for a 10-point lead with 1:53 to go and then converted a three-point play with 46 ticks remaining for a 96-83 edge. Wade put the finishing touches on the game as he fed Udonis Haslem for a basket in the closing seconds as the Heat seized a 2-1 series lead. Wade shot 13-of-17 from the field added 10 Nestlé Crunch Time Points.

Although the term "closer" is associated mostly with baseball, Dwyane Wade has turned into the NBA's version of a stopper. Wade scored 12 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter as the Miami Heat moved within one win of the franchise's first Finals appearance with an 89-78 Game 4 win over visiting Detroit on Monday. Wade has scored at least 10 points in each fourth quarter of the Eastern Conference Finals. The speedy guard broke free for a dunk with 1:26 left and added a pair of free throws 34 seconds later to seal Miami's second straight win in the series. Wade shot 8-of-11 from the field and collected six rebounds, five assists and eight Nestlé Crunch Time Points.
