For numerous NBA players, the summer affords them time to recuperate from the grueling regular season. But it also gives them time to continue their many charitable efforts. And many players give back to their communities by staging exciting charity games in the summer. From Alonzo Mourning's Zo's Summer Groove to Steve Francis's Summer Fiesta, we have the dish on this summer's seven charity games.

Aug. 29: Steve Francis Summer Fiesta
When Steve Francis called this a summer fiesta, he wasn't kidding. Francis' inaugural Summer Fiesta game in Houston capped off three days of clinics, auctions and forums to benefit the Steve Francis foundation. More than 20 NBA players participated in the game including Francis and All-Stars Kevin Garnett, Baron Davis and Sam Cassell. Dwight Howard, the NBA Draft 2004 No. 1 overall pick, also participated.

Aug. 28: World's Greatest Alumni Game
The third-annual World's Greatest Alumni Game took place at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. featuring some of the more prominent UNC alums in the NBA: Vince Carter, Jerry Stackhouse and Antawn Jamison. The Carolina team took on an ACC alumni team that featured Duke stars Chris Duhon and Magic forward Grant Hill. The event benefited the American Diabetes Association and Triple Threat Foundation

Aug. 15: Chicagoland All-Star Game
Hosted by Atlanta Hawk Antoine Walker and NBA great Tim Hardaway, both Chicago natives, this gathering of Chicagoland's best basketball players at the United Center benefited The Support Group, Inc. and the 8 Foundation. Walker, Suns guard and DePaul alum Quentin Richardson and Michael Finley participated.

Aug. 14: Jim Calhoun Celebrity Classic
The second Jim Calhoun Celebrity Classic took place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. featuring former UConn Huskies such as Detroit's Richard Hamilton and Chicago rookie Ben Gordon, both of whom played for national championship teams at UConn. The game raised money for cardiology research at the UConn Health Center.

Aug. 1: A Midsummer Night's Magic
One of the oldest all-star charity games, the 18th annual edition was held this year at The Forum in Ingelwood, Calif. Los Angeles natives including the Celtics' Paul Pierce and the Wizards' Gilbert Arenas took the floor to help the Rowell Foster Children's Positive Plan and Taylor Michael Scholarship Program.

July 30: Vince Carter Charity All-Star Game
Vince Carter hosted his fourth annual Charity All-Star Game at the Air Canada Centre. Carter was joined by teammates Jalen Rose and Morris Peterson as well as by Canadian and NBA All-Star Jamaal Magloire.

July 18: Zo's Summer Groove
Despite being a Net now, Alonzo Mourning continues to host his annual Zo's Summer Groove in Miami. Zo's "mini All-Star" game featured Mourning taking the floor along with such young players as Carmelo Anthony. Comic Dave Chapelle also performed his stand up comedy for the event.
