February marks Black History Month, and teams around the league will be celebrating with events that honor African-American heritage.

Here's a look at what's scheduled throughout the month.



Atlanta Hawks
In the city where he left much of his legacy, the Atlanta Hawks paid tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a day of activities to commemorate his life.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics and Amtrak will team up to celebrate Black History Month throughout February. "Celebrating Black History presented by Amtrak" will feature various appearances by members of the Celtics organization, an event for Boston-area students, and special interactive features on Celtics.com.
Charlotte Bobcats
Remembering the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Charlotte Bobcats planned a celebration in his honor at the Charlotte Coliseum.
Chicago Bulls
Ben Gordon, Adrian Griffin and Frank Williams will host approximately 75 students at the Chicago Historical Society for a performance by “Abraham Lincoln” highlighting the Emancipation Proclamation before engaging in a variety of activities focused on black history.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are presenting Black Heritage Celebration, featuring five signature Cleveland games that focus on themes of empowerment and the historic contributions of the black community.
Dallas Mavericks
In celebration of Black History Month and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, the Mavericks are hosting various events throughout the month.
Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets have selected their 12th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. breakfast essay contest winners.
Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons celebrated Black History Month with 160 students from Detroit and Pontiac at Cranbrook Institute of Science in Bloomfield Hills on February 7.
Golden State Warriors
On February 10, the Warriors will celebrate Black History Month at Wilson Elementary School.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are sponsoring the Black History Challenge, consisting of 10 trivia questions regarding Indiana’s Black history.
Miami Heat
The Heat will present profiles and vignettes of African-American leaders, scholars, artists and entertainers during the month of February as a celebration of American history.
New Jersey Nets
The Nets will honor the ‘Tuskegee Airmen,’ the Sisters Network of Central New Jersey and the Urban League of Hudson County during February as part of the team's celebration of Black History Month.
New York Knicks
Knicks and celebrities teamed up to emphasize the message of Dr. Martin Luteher King, Jr. at a "Promote The Quote" event in New York..

Portland Trail Blazers
Each Trail Blazers' home game during February will be dedicated to members of the community who are raising the bar for both commitment to service and dedication to heritage.
