Jan. 26 -- Sometimes it's the little things that make the difference. Every week we take you around the Eastern Conference for a look at the day-to-day developments on real NBA teams and how they might affect your fantasy squad.

Atlantic Division

Boston Celtics: Have you seen Al Jefferson's numbers lately: almost 12 points and eight rebounds per game along with a double-double against the Nets. Add a block every game and those are good fantasy numbers. Good enough to make a deep-league roster. Most owners are losing faith in Jefferson and he may not take off this season but look closer and you'll notice foul trouble is the only thing holding him back. Go on, take a gamble. All you need is a free roster spot.

New Jersey Nets: Richard Jefferson is clearly over his sore back. Other than a low field goal percentage, his stats are the same as before his injury. For a career 48 percent scorer, it shouldn't take much time to get back to that level. His career numbers also suggest he isn't likely to contribute heavily in three pointers, steals or blocks. His comeback should provide enough background to slip a trade by your league mate ... He may not be the new kid on the block but Jason Kidd is still the NBA's Mr. Triple Double. After Kidd dropped his third of the season against the Jazz, who wants to bet against him ending with the most in a season again?

New York Knicks: Holy Cow! The Knicks are on a streak. Contain the excitement as it's a losing streak this time. Of course it doesn't help that Stephon Marbury is injured. Jamal Crawford hasn't stepped up as expected in Marbury's absence. He'll go back to the bench when Marbury returns ... Interestingly, Nate Robinson now has four straight double-digit scoring games. He will score but that's about it ... Eddy Curry has just one, yes just one assist in 11 games this month, taking his grand total for the season to six!

Philadelphia 76ers: The Sixers have decided to bring Kyle Korver off the bench for the foreseeable future. They still need a pure shooter like him to space out the floor so he'll play enough minutes to be valuable. Korver's numbers have taken a hit after the move but in the long run they should even out to his current averages ... John Salmons – who replaces Korver in the starting lineup – can score a bit and is a better defender than Korver. Unfortunately his efforts won't reflect in the box score. Don't bother picking him up unless you are in a deep, deep league.

Toronto Raptors: Twenty points per game along with four assists and a three-pointer matter a lot in fantasy world. That's exactly what Jalen Rose is worth these days. Also, Rose is going to the free throw line an amazing 10 times a game. Don't overpay for him, though, as there are enough rumors suggesting he won't be in Toronto after the trade deadline ... While we’re on free throws, Chris Bosh has made 27 straight. For a center-eligible player, that’s absurd, especially when you attempt nine every game.

Central Division

Chicago Bulls: How great was the 2003 draft? We already have LeBron James and Dwayne Wade flirting with triple doubles on a regular basis and now Kirk Hinrich is getting in on the act, missing out by two rebounds and two assists on two occasions this week. Hinrich has flourished since Chris Duhon went to the bench and is certainly among the top five fantasy point guards in the league ... Request to Tyson Chandler: Can we have more of these 15-point, 14-rebound nights, please?

Cleveland Cavaliers: Three games, two double-doubles, less than 25 minutes per game. I think Drew Gooden is healthy. Good show, Drew! Keep it going! ... YAY!! LeBron James scores 51!! Big deal. Kobe Bryant scores 81. Talk about taking the fun out of 50-point games.

Detroit Pistons: How good are the Pistons? Flip Saunders has already locked up the Eastern Conference All-Star coaching job and we are still a good week away from February. I don't think they'll make the starting five but I'll be bummed if the Pistons don't have multiple All-Stars this season. Chauncey Billups is surely there and so is Ben Wallace. I think Rasheed Wallace should make it, too ... On the fantasy side, notice how Antonio McDyess' shot attempts have increased each month? Going by the trend, Dice should be good for 10 points and five rebounds in February. Deep leaguers pay attention.

Indiana Pacers: Getting Peja Stojakovic for Ron Artest is kind of like getting Peja Stojakovic for free. Between the suspension and the self-imposed exile, Artest has only played in 23 games for the Pacers in a season-and-a-half. His minutes will have to come at somebody’s expense, and that will likely be a combination of Fred Jones and Austin Croshere. Sarunas Jasikevicius will probably take the biggest hit..Jamaal Tinsley is back from his latest injury. Tinsley is struggling and his value is low right now. Wait until he puts together a few good games and trade him. Don't think, just do it ... Jermaine O'Neal is also back and getting to his All Star levels. He’ll benefit from the offensive dimension Stojakovic will add to the game plan ... I don't understand why the Pacers prefer David Harrison in the starting lineup over Jeff Foster. We need to educate them about fantasy basketball.

Milwaukee Bucks: Way to go, Andrew Bogut! Two more double-doubles. Bogut is looking more like the number one draft pick the Bucks hoped for. So what if Jamaal Magloire isn't a number one draft pick? Pulling down 22 rebounds is still a whopping 22 rebounds. Both players average near double doubles in January and should continue to flourish together ... T.J. Ford missed two more games to injury. No need to panic; he was back against the Rockets. Just be cautious with him.

Southeast Division

Atlanta Hawks: Salim Stoudamire scores 20 points in a game again. Salim Stoudamire hits 5-of-10 on three pointers in the same game. Tyronn Lue returns from injury. Salim Stoudamire goes back to warming the bench. The Hawks clearly prefer Lue, who is more of a point guard than Stoudamire. Barring another injury, Stoudamire – an excellent shooter – won't get many opportunities to showcase his talents this season. Lue was playing well before his injury and should be worth a roster spot in most leagues ... How many of you bought into Al Harrington's three-point barrage towards the end of December? Well, the dude is 1-of-17 from three-point territory in his last nine games.

Charlotte Bobcats: Man, I feel like pulling my hair out (gotta be careful with it so I'll just write out my frustration). Gerald Wallace is sidelined for the next 4-6 weeks. I know life isn't fair but why isn't it ever not fair in my favor? (Thanks Calvin, the source of all philosophy in my life). I lost my H2H matchup and all hopes of a resurgence in this league are gone. The only silver lining is that I didn't pull the trigger on a Gerald Wallace trade in another league ... Gerald Wallace is out, Emeka Okafor is out, Sean May is out. All are good for Raymond Felton's fantasy value. Why? The Bobcats didn't have much of a chance this season and now they have nothing left to play for than to develop for the future. Raymond Felton is the future. From now on, Felton will play as many minutes as he can handle. The only downside is he will still be playing alongside Brevin Knight. I'll take that gamble.

Miami Heat: Jason Williams is a bit of an injury risk, having missed 10 games already this season, but when he plays, he sure does play. Despite injuries, Williams has managed 14 points and six assists this month. He gets two three-pointers and a steal each game, making him one of the more valuable fantasy point guards in the league ... Shaquille O'Neal is playing better lately, crossing the 20-point, 10-rebound mark more frequently. With his minutes slowly on the rise, Shaq could be a fantasy force in head-to-head leagues during the second half of the season. If you don't mind losing the free throw percentage category, you could get a steal here for your H2H team ... I'm loving the Alonzo Mourning Block Count. He had 10 more this week for a total of 127 this season.

Orlando Magic: Grant Hill is out of action and there is no indication as to when he might return. At this point, it’s better to make your plans without him ... Jameer Nelson, who was filling up the stat sheet, is injured too but is expected back soon ... Steve Francis returns from his brief suspension only to continue his sub-par scoring this season. His rebound and assist numbers have been near the seven that we’re used to, but those could go down when Nelson returns. Good time to trade Francis...Meet Tony Battie, a low-cost fantasy center. He will score few points, but he will get his share of rebounds and, lately, he is showing off his blocking abilities too. More importantly, he is getting more than 30 minutes a game. Invest now.

Washington Wizards: Antawn Jamison now has four straight 20-10 games, averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds. Amazingly, Jamison is also hitting two three-pointers per game. Had it not been for the lack of steals and blocks, Jamison would have been ranked in the fantasy top 10 ... Caron Butler is getting so many steals, it is easy to overlook he is also scoring 20 points per game. I still can't figure out why he was out of the starting lineup for the first two months.
