Overview
The Fantasy NBA: The Rookies game is a weekly and season-long contest where a user selects one different rookie player for each day of the week and scores one fantasy point for every point, rebound and assist that rookie selection records in that day's game. Users can build their own team of NBA rookies and compete against each other to win great prizes. Fans can compete over the course of the entire NBA regular season, which begins on November 1, 2005 and ends on April 19, 2006, or on a single-week basis each week during the regular season.

How the Game Works

  • Each day, select one rookie.
  • Score one fantasy point for every point, rebound and assist your rookie selection records in that day's game. (Your total = P+R+A)
  • You can only use each player once per week, so pay close attention to the matchups!
  • Set your weekly lineup in advance, or come back each day and change your selection.
  • You must make your selection before the start time of the first game of that day.
  • You can only set your lineup up to three weeks in advance. After that three week period, you will be required to come back to your game play page and make upcoming day/week selections.
  • Everyone is eligible to win prizes (subject to the Official Rules), but you can also heat up the competition by playing against your friends in public or private leagues.

    Roster Moves
    You can only use each player once per week. You will not be able to use the same rookie more than once in any given week. You can make selections for up to 3 weeks in advance, or you can come back each day and update your selection. You must make your selection before the start time of the first game of that day. Once the first game tips-off, that day's selections will be locked.

    How To sign-up
    To play this fantasy game, you must first sign-up. If you are not an NBA Fan Center Member, you will be required to first register. If you are already a member, you will be asked to enter your personal username and password to enter the game. Then you will be prompted to set your own fantasy rookie line-up. Once you are signed-up, you can join a existing league or create your own league.

    Create or Join a League
    You have the option to group yourself with friends, co-workers, or completely random fans by joining or creating a league. Many of the leagues in the game are public and can be joined at any time. If you want to play with a specific league of people you know, create a private league and make it only accessible to those whom you have given the league password. The creator of a league sets the league's name, settings, motto, and password (only if private). Leagues can have up to 50 teams and you can move your entry from one league type to the next. All of this is easily found on the League Directory page. There is no prize awarded for being the top entrant in your league.
