A weekly look inside the NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League
PLANET HOLLYWOOD FANTASY, Feb. 26, 2007 --
It’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve got you up to speed with the action inside the NBA Cares Celebrity Fantasy League.
During Week 16, each celebrity had to deal with a short week due to the All-Star break. To quickly recap, Bill Simmons, George Lopez, Dean Cain, Bernie Mac, Pam Anderson/Kid Rock, and Adam McKay pulled out wins.
Week 17 saw a return to full action – almost. There were no games played on Monday.

And what do you know, Dean Cain (5-12) has emerged out of the cellar to win three straight. It seems as though Dean Cain is making a late season push to make the playoffs, although it is virtually impossible for him to do so. Hey, at least he’s trying. Cain defeated George Lopez, 1134-1028. Lopez hoped to take the momentum from his previous win, but Cain’s team was just too much. Cain has been riding Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard to keep winning. We’ll see if his squad can keep it going against Will Ferrell, which won’t be an easy task.
Meat Loaf (12-5) ended a two-game losing streak and upended Pam Anderson/Kid Rock, 1108-1010. Meat Loaf has won four of the last six. The loss put a halt to Pam/Rock’s six-game winning streak. Pam/Rock (13-4), leading the Atlantic division, is still 8-2 in its last ten matchups - not too shabby. Less than average performances by Mehmet Okur, Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert likely prevented Pam/Rock from keeping it closer. The Atlantic Division is all but pretty much wrapped up, with Meat Loaf and Pam/Rock likely to move on to the playoffs.

In other action, Will Ferrell’s squad (13-4) rebounded from its fourth loss by outlasting Kenny Smith (6-11), 1024-1223. Bill Simmons (15-2) posted his tenth straight win after defeating Bernie Mac (6-11). Meanwhile, Spike Lee (8-9) took down Jimmy Kimmel and Sal’s squad (5-12), 1055-910.
That’s all for this week, folks!
