Update: Bynum, who is coming off knee surgery, will be seeking a 5-year, $80 million extension this offseason, the Orange County Register reports.

P.J. Brown: May Be Retiring
Update: Brown is considering retiring, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: Celtics vice president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was told by Brown that he was not going to return for another season. "Whatever P.J. wants," Ainge said. "He knows that we'd love to have him back, but he has to want to come back. But I'm not counting on it. He's 39 years old, and he has a nice family. He was a great contributor in our winning, but he said he doesn't want to play."

Update: According to people close to Knicks team president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni, it's a near certainty that Marbury will not be with the club for the 2008-09 season, the New York Times reports.

"The knee looks wonderful and we are anticipating that within a short period of time, he will start training," Bynum's agent, David Lee, said. "The doctors told him the knee was doing better than expected."
