Monta Ellis: Head Not In The Game On Tuesday
Update: Ellis, who only scored 11 points on 3-for-9 shooting, could have been distracted by the fact that his brother was wounded by gunfire last weekend, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: The 11 points was Ellis' lowest point total since January 16th. Look for him to bounce back in the Warriors' next game against the Clippers.
Danny Granger: Misses Wednesday's Game
Update: Granger missed Wednesday's game against the Bobcats due to a sprained right wrist, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Kareem Rush started in place of Granger, who jammed the wrist Monday. More on Granger's status as we know it.
Brandon Roy: Plays Poorly Tuesday
Update: Roy had only six points in Tuesday's 111-98 loss to the Suns.
Analysis: Roy did chip in seven boards and seven assists, but he shot just 3-of-14 from the field. Despite the off night Tuesday, Roy is still averaging 21.3 points, 6.0 assists and 5.4 rebounds in March and should be a mainstay in your fantasy lineup.
LaMarcus Aldridge: Nets Game-High
Update: Aldridge had a game-high 31 points on 15-of-27 shooting in Tuesday's loss to Phoenix.
Analysis: Tuesday's point total was Aldridge's highest since Dec. 31. He added eight boards in the losing effort, and has now averaged 24.4 points over Portland's last five games.
Chris Bosh: Will Return Wednesday
Update: Bosh (knee) will play in Wednesday's game against the Heat, the Toronto Globe and Mail reports.
Analysis: It remains to be seen how close to a full workload he will receive after having sat out 10 games, but he'll be available if you need him Wednesday.
Chris Duhon: Missed Tuesday's Game Due To A Virus
Update: Duhon (virus) sat on the bench in street clothes for the Bulls' 112-96 win over the Nets Tuesday, the Arlington Daily Herald reports.
Analysis: Duhon skipped the trip to New Orleans due to the illness, but said he was feeling better. Even when healthy, his playing time has diminished to the point where there is no need for him to be active or on your roster.
Larry Hughes: Another All-Around Productive Night Tuesday
Update: Hughes had a solid all-around line with 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, four steals and two threes in the Bulls' 112-96 win over the Nets Tuesday.
Analysis: Hughes has struggled with his shot recently, finishing under 50 percent in each of his past 10 games, including all nine in March. That being said, he is 14-for-30 in his past two contests and just under that 50 percent mark in three of his last five games while contributing a bit in every category.
Kirk Hinrich: Solid Rebound Effort
Update: Hinrich, who rolled his ankle in the first half and limped through the second, notched a 14-point, eight-assist line Tuesday against New Jersey to bounce back from his nightmare performance Monday.
Analysis: Hinrich has been very inconsistent lately, with five single-point efforts in his last seven games. The one saving grace is that he has been fairly solid in assists over that stretch despite his minutes fluctuating wildly.
Andres Nocioni: Decrease In Playing Time
Update: Nocioni has seen just 15 minutes of action the past two games.
Analysis: No word has been given as to why his minutes were so low but the likely explanation is time playing time given to and performance by Drew Gooden and Luol Deng at the two forward spots. The acquisition of Gooden followed by the return of Deng has adversely affected Nocioni, making him an unreliable option.
Thabo Sefolosha: Playing Pattern Makes Use Difficult
Update: Sefolosha followed up his 14-minute effort from Monday by playing 30 minutes in the Bulls' 112-96 win over New Jersey Tuesday.
Analysis: Since missing six games with a groin injury, Sefolosha's minutes have been like a yo-yo - 14,23,14 and 30 - making relying on him somewhat of a nightmare. He had seven points, seven rebounds and six assists against the Nets, but his playing pattern means you will be rolling the dice by using him.
Chris Bosh: Should Play Wednesday
Update: Bosh (knee) expects to play Wednesday, the Toronto Star reports.
Analysis: The Raptors have a favorable home macthup against the Heat Wednesday, so you should probably jump the gun a bit and get him active for the game if you can.
Mikki Moore: Producing Mo(o)re in March
Update: Moore scored 19 points to go with 10 rebounds and three blocked shots during Sacramento's 122-105 victory over the Warriors Tuesday night.
Analysis: In March, the power forward's play has been reminiscent of last season's performance in New Jersey, when he led the NBA in field goal percentage (60.9). In his last nine games, Moore is shooting 68.8% and averaging 11.9 points and 7.1 rebounds.
John Salmons: Plays Tuesday Night
Update: Salmons (ankle) played 14 minutes and scored two points in the Kings' 122-105 win over Golden State Tuesday night.
Analysis: Salmons, who sprained his ankle on Saturday, was back in action after sitting out Sunday's win over Toronto. In his last 15 games, the veteran swingman is averaging 6.7 points and shooting 41.3 percent.
Spencer Hawes: Day-to-Day Strain
Update: Hawes (foot) did not play Tuesday versus the Warriors.
Analysis: He is considered day-to-day with a mild strain in his left foot.
Marcus Camby: Another Solid All-Around Game
Update: Camby finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block during Denver's loss at Detroit on Tuesday night.
Analysis: Camby finished 7-of-9 from the field and 1-of-2 from the line in his 32 minutes of court time. He continues to put up good numbers across the board while avoiding the injury bug that has dogged him his whole career.
Sam Cassell: Falls Back to Earth Against Rockets
Update: Cassell had two points on 1-6 shooting in the Celtics' 94-74 win over the Rockets on Tuesday.
Analysis: Tuesday's game should be more representative of what to expect from Cassell for the rest of the season, not Monday's 17-point outburst. Rajon Rondo has a firm grasp on the starting point guard spot and does not figure to ever cede it to Cassell.
Allen Iverson: Posts Double-Double vs Pistons
Update: Iverson had 20 points, 11 assists, two rebounds and two steals during Denver's loss at Detroit on Tuesday night.
Analysis: Iverson did not attempt a 3-pointer for the second straight game after having attempted at least one in 35 straight games. That may be and indication that his broken ring finger is an issue on long distance shots. He did finish 5-of-11 from the field and 10-of-13 from the line.
Rajon Rondo: Streaky Shooting Against Rockets
Update: Rondo had eight points on 4-12 shooting in the Celtics' 94-74 win over the Rockets on Tuesday. He missed his first seven shots in the game, but proceeded to hit his next four straight.
Analysis: The notoriously streaky Rondo is shooting 43% from the field in the month of March, his worst month to date. His assists, rebounds and steals are all also significantly lower than they were in February.
Paul Pierce: Scores 20 Against Rockets
Update: Pierce had 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals in the Celtics' 94-74 win over the Rockets on Tuesday.
Analysis: After scoring in the teens for five straight games, Pierce has scored more than 20 in back-to-back games against the best of the West. He seems to play his best against top competition.
Leon Powe: Scores 21 Against Rockets
Update: Powe had 21 points and four rebounds in the Celtics' 94-74 win over the Rockets on Tuesday.
Analysis: A huge game for Powe, though fantasy owners shouldn't expect this on a regular basis from the Celtics reserve. Tuesday was the first time in nearly a month that Powe had scored more than 10 points, and his outburst on Tuesday came in only 20 minutes of play.
Kobe Bryant: Scores 29 Against Mavs
Update: Bryant had 29 points, seven assists and three steals in the Lakers' 102-100 win over the Mavs on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bryant is averaging 29.8 points per game over his last five, and has been taking more than 23 shots per game during that stretch, three more than his season average.
Vladimir Radmanovic: 21 and 10 Against Mavs
Update: Radmanovic had 21 points and 10 rebounds in the Lakers' 102-100 win over the Mavs on Tuesday night.
Analysis: While Radmanovic has been playing major minutes lately, don't expect much consistency out of the streaky shooter, who has scored in double figures only three times in the last month.
Manu Ginobili: Sore Ankle
Update: Ginobili said his right ankle was still a little tender from a spill he took early in the fourth quarter against Boston, but he doesn't expect it to hobble him by the time the Spurs get to Chicago, the San Antonio Express-News reports.
Analysis: Ginobili should be fine for the game against Chicago on Thursday. Ginobili will also be returning to his sixth-man role according to coach Gregg Popovich.
Andre Miller: Sits Out Practice, Expects to Play
Update: Miller sat out Monday's practice to rest his back, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Miller has been playing through the sore back for a while now, so there should be no worries that he missed a practice. He is expected to play Wednesday night against Denver.
Willie Green: Sits Out Practice, Expects to Play
Update: Green sat out Monday's practice to rest his sore back, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Despite the missed practice, Green is expected to play Wednesday night against Denver.
Bostjan Nachbar: Back Will Continue to Bother
Update: Nachbar said his back is still sore and will likely bother him for the rest of the season, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Nachbar said once he gets into the flow of a game, the back is not an issue. "I'm still sore in my back," he said. "That's probably something that's going to stick with me the rest of the season. It tightens up after games, after practice and after games and then on a day off, it loosens up and then after the game it tightens up. It's going to be something that's going to get better after the season once I get a week off." Nachbar shot 1-of-10 from the field Tuesday night in the Nets' loss to the Bulls.
Marcus Williams: Replaces Harris
Update: Williams came in to replace an injured Devin Harris (ankle) Tuesday night in New Jersey's loss to Chicago.
Analysis: Williams had 16 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes. Harris' status for Wednesday night's game against Atlanta is uncertain, so we expect Williams to get extended minutes for at least one more game.
Sean Williams: Second Straight Start
Update: Williams started at power forward in place of Nenad Krstic (upper respiratory infection) Tuesday night in New Jersey's loss to Chicago.
Analysis: Williams had four points, six rebounds and two blocked shots in 22 minutes. With Krsitc out for the last two games, Nets coach Lawrence Frank has used a committee to replace him, including Williams, Stromile Swift and Bostjan Nachbar.
Nenad Krstic: Misses Second Straight
Update: Krstic (upper respiratory infection) missed his second straight game on Tuesday.
Analysis: Sean Williams started at power forward for the Nets in their loss to Chicago.
Devin Harris: X-Rays Negative
Update: X-rays on Harris' sprained right ankle came back negative, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Harris sprained the ankle in Tuesday night's loss to Chicago and was forced to leave the game in the second quarter. He will be evaluated daily, but remains iffy for Wednesday night's game against Atlanta. This is not the same ankle that caused Harris to miss 14 games earlier this season, and Harris added that the sprain is not as severe.
Carl Landry: Misses Another Game
Update: Landry missed his sixth consecutive game with a sore knee Tuesday night, the Houston Chronicle reports. "He's our most athletic big guy,'' coach Rick Adelman said. "He's our best finisher, the most active. He's just different. He's got lots of energy, plus he's very athletic. That's something we really miss."
Analysis: Adelman continued: "We just don't have a lot of people up front. It's hard when you start playing these better teams. And after Dikembe (Mutombo) goes out, we're pretty small. If Carl keeps improving, maybe he can play this week some time... I am (concerned). He told me he felt better (Tuesday). Hopefully he can be OK come this weekend.'' Landry traveled with the team to New Orleans and is considered day-to-day. "Nothing new,'' Landry said. "Still sore. It's getting better day by day, a lot better. It's getting better and better, but slowly.'' Keep him on your bench until further notice.
