Eric Snow: Out Four to Six Weeks
Update: Snow is expected to 4-to-6 weeks sue to arthritis-related symptoms in his left knee, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Snow will likely miss the rest of the regular season, as the Cavs continue to struggle with injuries. His value to Cleveland is probably much higher than his value to your fantasy team, however. Snow's minutes have dropped from over 23 per game during the 07-08 season, to just 14 per game in 22 contests this year. He averages just one point and 1.9 assists per game.
Desmond Mason: Leaves Game With Injury
Update: Mason left Tuesday's game against Washington in the third quarter due to a bruised right knee, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis: Mason was hurt when teammate Andrew Bogut stumbled into him. Mason grabbed his knee in pain before lying down on the court. His return is questionable.
Mike Wilks: Gets Another 10 Days
Update: The Sonics signed Wilks to a second 10-day contract Tuesday, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
Analysis: He only appeared in one game over the course of his first contract and will continue to be sparingly used in Seattle.
Andrei Kirilenko: Will Play Tuesday
Update: Kirilenko (strained right hip) will play in Tuesday's game against the Bulls, the Deseret Morning News reports.
Analysis: Kirilenko has missed the Jazz's past three games after sustaining the injury in Utah's win over Dallas on March 3. "The shorter period of time you miss the better," Kirilenko said. "I don't feel any pain. I'm just kind of scared a little bit. ... But it's gonna go away."
Thabo Sefolosha: Practices Monday, Should Play Tuesday
Update: Sefolosha, who has missed the last six games with a strained left groin, practiced Monday and should play Tuesday against Utah if he doesn't suffer a setback, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Analysis: Sefolosha's value took a big hit with the addition of Larry Hughes, so it will be interesting to see the division of minutes now that he is back. Also, Chris Duhon should return after his one-game suspension and fine for his dismissive comment about the suspension due to his frustration as to lack of playing, so coach Jim Boylan may appease him by giving him some minutes, which will also impact Sefolosha.
Tony Parker: 16 Points in Win
Update: Parker had 16 points (6-of-14 FG, 4-of-4 FT) and four assists in the Spurs' win over the Nuggets on Monday.
Analysis: While Parker conitnues to score, he is not providing enough other statistics to be a great fantasy player right now. He is only averaging 4.2 apg, 2.2 rpg and 0.8 spg in his last five games.
Manu Ginobili: Career-High in Assists
Update: Ginobili had 13 points and a career-high 14 assists in the Spurs' win over the Nuggets on Monday.
Analysis: Ginobili didn't shoot particularly well from the floor (4-of-11), but he continues to be produce even when his shot is off.
Mike Bibby: Five 3-Pointers in Loss
Update: Bibby had 23 points (9-of-13 FG, 5-of-6 3-PT), six assists and two steals in the Hawks' loss to the Magic on Monday.
Analysis: Bibby played his best offensive game since joining the Hawks and his owners have to hope this is a sign of things to come.
Joe Johnson: Hot Streak Continues
Update: Johnson had 27 points (11-of-20 FG, 2-of-3 3-PT, 3-of-4 FT) and 11 assists in the Hawks' loss to the Magic on Monday.
Analysis: Johnson continued his stellar play, as he has averaged 32 points per game in his last three games while averaging almost nine assists a game.
Carlos Arroyo: Minutes Increasing Again
Update: Arroyo played 24 minutes and scored 11 points in Orlando's victory over Atlanta on Monday night.
Analysis: Arroyo had been basically dropped from the rotation only a few weeks ago, but he is now again splitting time with starter Jameer Nelson. Owners shouldn't be flocking to the waiver wire to pick up Arroyo, but his fantasy value has risen again if nothing else.
Keith Bogans: Big Game off the Bench
Update: Bogans hit three three-pointers and scored 19 points in Orlando's victory over Atlanta on Monday night.
Analysis: Bogans is averaging 10.4 points per game in five March games, his highest monthly average since December, a month in which he was a nightly starter. Bogans isn't a great fantasy player at this point, but he is hitting nearly two three-pointers a game this season.
Rashard Lewis: Threes Coming in Bunches
Update: Lewis shot 8-of-16, including 4-of-7 from behind the three-point line, and scored 22 points in Orlando's victory over Atlanta on Monday night.
Analysis: Lewis has hit at least three three-pointers in his last eight games and is averaging 20.5 points per game over that span.
Dwight Howard: Big Game Against Atlanta
Update: Howard scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in Orlando's victory over Atlanta on Monday night.
Analysis: Howard has now recorded a double-double in 10 consecutive games. He also has 18 blocks over that span and is starting to play like he did earlier in the season. Fantasy owners should like hearing that with the playoffs fast approaching.
Jameer Nelson: Splitting Time at Point Guard
Update: Nelson only played 24 minutes but managed to score 13 points in Orlando's victory over Atlanta on Monday night.
Analysis: Nelson and backup Carlos Arroyo have played relatively the same minutes over the last four games. Nelson will continue to start, but don't expect his stats to improve very much unless he starts to see more time on the floor again.
Al Thornton: Hits for 22 at Miami
Update: Thornton shot 9-of-14 and scored 22 points with 10 rebounds, three assists and a steal in the Clippers' 99-98 win at Miami Monday night.
Analysis: Thornton is making a late push for the NBA's All-Rookie team. Not bad considering he was left out of the Rookie Challenge game during All-Star weekend less than a month ago.
Dan Dickau: Effective as of Late
Update: Dickau came off the bench and scored 10 points and doled out four assists during the Clippers' 99-98 win over the Heat Monday night.
Analysis: The sixth-year point guard is currently playing better than Brevin Knight, who is starting for Los Angeles. In his last six games, Dickau is averaging 24.2 minutes, 8.2 points and 3.3 assists while shooting 47.5 percent.
Aaron Williams: Strain Keeps Him Benched
Update: Williams (abdomen) did not play at Miami Monday night.
Analysis: The forward-center has been limited by an abdominal strain. He has not played since March 5, a stretch of three games.
Jason Kidd: Limited Minutes in Blowout Win
Update: Kidd had eight points, nine assists, and five rebounds in a Mavericks' win over the Knicks Monday night.
Analysis: Don't be alarmed by the low output from Kidd. He played only 26 minutes as Dallas coasted to a victory over New York.
Devean George: Sidelined by Back Spasms
Update: George (back) was inactive Monday night, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: George missed Dallas' blowout win over New York with back spasms. He initially injured his back in Saturday's contest against New Jersey. Newly acquired Antoine Wright will get the bulk of George's minutes.
Jason Terry: Strong Off the Bench
Update: In his second game since being moved to the bench, Terry was much more effective. He tallied 18 points, five assists, and five rebounds.
Analysis: It appeared Terry was making a statement to Coach Avery Johnson and fantasy owners alike by showing he's capable of filling the stat sheet from his new role. Expect around the same numbers from Terry from here on out.
Antoine Wright: Six Points Against the Knicks
Update: Wright saw extended minutes for the second straight game Monday night and finished with six points, three rebounds, and two assists in a 108-79 win over the Knicks.
Analysis: With Devean George suffering back spasms, Wright is in the position to crack into Coach Avery Johnson's rotation. However, Wright doesn't seem to be in the same position he was in earlier in the season when he was a decent fantasy contributor and isn't a significant addition at this point.
Marcus Camby: Pulls Down 14 Boards vs Spurs
Update: Camby had 14 rebounds, four assists and three points during the Nuggets' 107-103 loss to San Antonio on Monday night.
Analysis: It was a solid rebounding effort for Camby but he did little else in Denver's effort to upend the defending champs. It was the second time in four days that Camby has failed to register a steal or a block, with both games coming against the Spurs.
Allen Iverson: Scores Game-High 28 vs Spurs
Update: Iverson (finger) posted 28 points, five rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal during Denver's loss at San Antonio on Monday night.
Analysis: Iverson, who suffered a non-displacement fracture to the tip of his right ring finger last Friday vs the Spurs, doesn't seem to be bothered by the injury. Over his last two games he's gone 19-for-39 from the field, including 4-of-9 from 3-point range. For the record Iverson hasn't indicated that the finger is an issue and seems much more concerned about trying to get Denver into the playoffs which is a good sign he won't miss any time because of the injury.
Sean Williams: Three Blocks
Update: Williams had three blocked shots in 11 minutes Monday night in New Jersey's loss to Houston.
Analysis: Williams has seen his playing time dry up, but Monday's stint was his most since Feb. 23. Right now, coach Lawrence Frank is juggling the backup minutes at power forward with Williams, Stromile Swift and Bostjan Nachbar all getting playing time at the four. All that means is you can't count on Williams, unless you're really desperate for the blocks. He's averaging 1.66 blocks in 18:36 mpg this year.
Josh Boone: Plays Through Arm Injury
Update: Boone (left arm) started and played 18 minutes (zero points) Monday night in New Jersey's loss to Houston.
Analysis: Boone hurt the arm in the Nets' previous game, but it was not considered serious. He got into some early foul trouble against the Rockets, limiting his playing time and production. He finished with two rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot while missing all five of his field-goal attempts.
Bostjan Nachbar: Over Hip Injury
Update: Nachbar (hip) played 24 minutes Monday night in New Jersey's loss to Houston.
Analysis: Nachbar had five points (1-of-6 FG), five rebounds and one blocked shot in the loss. After missing three games because of a strained left hip flexor, Nachbar has played in two straight.
Jason Richardson: Eastern Conference Player of the Week
Update: Richardson was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Richardson averaged 28.5 points, 3.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals in victories over Minnesota, Golden State, Atlanta and Washington this past week. He took on added scoring responsibility with Gerald Wallace (concussion) out of the lineup, scoring 30 or more points in four of the eight games Wallace missed. Wallace is due back this week.
Gilbert Arenas: Did Not Practice Monday
Update: Arenas (knee) did not practice on Monday, according to the Washington Post.
Analysis: Arenas has been cleared to return to practice, but is taking a cautious approach with his surgically repaired knee. A late March or early April return is still likely.
Derek Anderson: Practices Monday
Update: Anderson (sore right knee) practiced Monday, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Anderson, who has missed the past seven games, might be available Wednesday night against Dallas. If Anderson's return to action matters to your hoops fantasy team, it's time to start preparing for your fantasy baseball leagues.
Caron Butler: Won't Play Tuesday
Update: Butler (hip) will not play Tuesday, according to the Washington Post, but is closer to making a return.
Analysis: Monday was Butler's first practice since February 18th, so the Wizards will probably want to see him practice pain-free on Thursday as well before thinking about putting him back into game action.
Gerald Wallace: Ready to Play Wednesday?
Update: Wallace (concussion) says he should be ready to play by Wednesday when the Bobcats face the Mavericks, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Wallace worked out hard with teammates Monday and said he felt no ill effects from the concussion after practice. It's likely he'll play exclusively at small forward, which means Jason Richardson will shift back to shooting guard when Wallace is ready to start. Wallace has been used as a power forward in the past, but the 6-7, 215-pounder has suffered four concussions in his three-plus years in Charlotte while banging against bigger foes. "I think my time at the 4 (position) is done," Wallace said. "It was fine playing 4, but I'd be better off out on the wing."
Paul Pierce: Scores 17 in Win
Update: Pierce had 17 points and four rebounds in the Celtics' 100-86 win over the Sixers on Monday.
Analysis: Pierce made three of his seven three-point attempts on Monday, and is converting 50 percent of his three-point attempts over his last five games.
Ray Allen: Scores 21 in WIn
Update: Allen had 21 points and three assists in the Celtics' 100-86 win over the Sixers on Monday.
Analysis: Allen made four of the six three-pointers he attempted, and has made nine threes in his last two games. It seems his long-range shot is returning to form.
Ronnie Price: Shoulder Pain?
Update: Price said he heard a "pop" in his shoulder during Utah's win over the Nuggets on Saturday night, but the injury wasn't serious, the Deseret Morning News reports.
Analysis: Price was back at practice on Monday and is expected to play in Tuesday's game against the Bulls.
Andrei Kirilenko: Practices Monday
Update: Kirilenko (strained right hip) practiced Monday and has been upgraded from doubtful to a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against Chicago, the Deseret Morning News reports.
Analysis: "I've been running and shooting and it's been doing very good," Kirilenko said prior to Monday's practice. "It doesn't bother me, no soreness. A little tightness, but no pain." We recommend sitting Kirilenko, who's missed the past three games, until he's shown he's back in game shape.
Tracy McGrady: Conference Player of the Week
Update: McGrady was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday, his second such honor of the season, seventh with the Rockets and 12th overall, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: McGrady averaged 32.3 points on 55.6 percent shooting, with 7.7 assists and five rebounds as the Rockets went 3-0.
Carl Landry: Misses Monday's Game
Update: Landry, who missed Monday's game, returned from another round of tests with no ligament or cartilage tears found, the Houston Chronicle reports. "I feel good," said Landry, who missed his second game with swelling in his right knee. It could have been worse. It could have been season-ending. But good news - it's a day-to-day thing."
Analysis: Landry said there is still no diagnosis on the injury other than there is swelling. "Just a little pull, a little strain, a knee bump that aggravated some ligaments," he said. "Everything was intact. The doctor said it looked even better than he thought it would look, so that's good news." Consider Landry day-to-day until further notice.
James Jones: Struggles From Floor
Update: Jones scored only three points (1-of-7 FG) in 18 minutes during Monday night's loss to Cleveland
Analysis: After missing 12 games with a sore left knee, Jones has averaged just 7.8 points in the five games since his return. He is of no significant worth in fantasy leagues at this point, unless your team is in desperate need of threes.
Jarrett Jack: Just Three Points in Losing
Update: Jack missed all five of his shots in Monday's loss to Portland.
Analysis: He finished with three points and four assists in 21 minutes off the bench. Jack has struggled so far in March, averaging just 7.6 points and 2.4 assists while shooting 36.4 percent from the field.
