Official Rules. No Purchase Necessary To Enter or Win. Eligibility: The NBA Fan Challenge (“Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents (natural persons only) of: a) the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and b) Canada (excluding Quebec), who are thirteen (13) years of age or older at time of registration. Eligible minors must obtain their parent’s or legal guardian’s consent prior to participation. Employees of NBA Media Ventures, LLC (“Sponsor”), NBA Properties, Inc., the NBA and its member teams (collectively, the “NBA Entities”), and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, governors, owners, distributors, agents, assignees, advertising/promotion agencies, and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law.

How to Enter: 1.) Register for the NBA Fan Challenge between 3:00:00 PM Eastern Time (“ET”) on 03/06/03 and 11:59:59ET PM on 04/15/03 (“Promotion Period”). (1) Visit http://www.nba.com/fanchallenge.html and picking a team affiliation, or by visiting each of the 29 NBA team home pages during the Entry Period and clicking on the “NBA Fan Challenge” link. Registration is free. You will be asked to provide your e-mail address, preferred e-mail format, birth date, first name, last name, address, city, state, zip/postal code, country, phone number, and to select a Member Name and password. You will also be asked to consent to receive promotional e-mails from the NBA and its partners. Consenting to receive promotional e-mails is optional and does not have to be agreed in order to be eligible for the Sweepstakes. (2) Answer one of the twenty-nine (29) team-related trivia questions. New trivia questions will be provided each Monday and Thursday during the Promotion Period. Correct answers to trivia question do not affect sweepstakes entry. (3) Complete your entry, by clicking on the “Submit Entry Form” button. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the Sponsor if his or her e-mail address changes. Limit one registration/entry per person and per e-mail address per day for the duration of the Promotion Period. Additional registrations/entries received in a single day (including answers to two or more trivia questions) from such person or e-mail address thereafter will overwrite all previous entries received on such day and render them void. All eligible entries will have an equal chance of winning. The NBA Entities are not responsible for incomplete, late or misdirected entries, failures or malfunctions of phones, phone lines, telephone systems, lost entries or transmissions, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed computer hardware or software or technical failures, garbled, misrouted, scrambled transmissions; traffic congestion on the Internet or for any technical problem, including but not limited to any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes; printing or other errors in these Official Rules, in any Sweepstakes-related advertisements or other materials, or other errors or problems of any kind whether human, electronic or otherwise.

Winner Selection: There will be six (6) weekly winners and one (1) Grand Prize winner. Potential weekly winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about three days after the conclusion of each Sunday during the Promotion Period from among all eligible entries received by Sponsor, whose decisions will be final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. A potential Grand Prize will be selected in a random drawing on or about 04/25/03 from among all eligible entries received by Sponsor, whose decisions will be final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. Potential winner will be notified by telephone and/or mail. Prizes will be awarded to the person named on the applicable registration form regardless of whether that is the name of the authorized account holder of the e-mail address from which said registration was submitted (subject to verification of eligibility and the terms of these Official Rules). One (1) Grand Prize: One NBA gift pack consisting of apparel from the team of winner’s choice. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Grand Prize=$250 (U.S.). Six (6) Weekly Prizes: Six $50 (U.S.) NBA.com Online Store gift certificates Total ARV $300 (U.S.).

Miscellaneous: No transfer, assignment, cash redemption or substitution of prize (or portion thereof) except by Sponsor due to prize unavailability, and then for a prize (or applicable portion thereof) of equal or greater value. Federal, state and local taxes and all other expenses not specified herein are winner’s sole responsibility. If an eligible minor is selected as the winner, prize will be awarded in the name of said minor’s parent or legal guardian. Potential winners (if minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and (where legal) Publicity Release within five (5) days of issuance of notification. Non-compliance with the foregoing may result in disqualification and awarding of prize to an alternate winner at Sponsor’s sole discretion. If any prize notification letter or prize is returned as undeliverable, potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to: 1.) disqualify any person and void any entries of any person who it believes has tampered with the entry process, the operation of NBA.com, or any other component of this Sweepstakes, whose conduct or actions affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, or who is in violation of these Official Rules and 2.) modify, suspend or terminate this Sweepstakes should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Sponsor, including but not limited to war, strikes, and/or acts of God (whether or not officially declared), corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this Sweepstakes and, in the event of termination or suspension, at its discretion, award prize from among eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date of the event requiring such termination or suspension. The use of any device which automates the registration/entry process is prohibited. By participating, entrants (if minor, his/her parent or legal guardian) agree to be bound by these Official Rules and agree that: 1.) the NBA Entities and their designees and assigns may use (unless prohibited by law) such entrant’s name, voice, city, state, province or territory of residence, photograph, and/or other visual likeness for advertising and/or trade purposes and/or for the purpose of posting their name on NBA.com and/or for any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission or notification and 2.) the NBA Entities and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents shall have no liability and will be released and held harmless from any claim, action, liability, loss, injury or damage, including, without limitation, personal injury or death to winner or any third party or damage to personal or real property due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prize or participation in this Sweepstakes.
