ROME, ITALY, March 15, 2007 – The Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors will hold their training camps in Rome and Treviso, Italy in October and play exhibition games in the Italian capital as part of NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, the NBA, Euroleague Basketball and Lottomatica Roma announced today at a press conference held at the Piazza del Campidoglio in Rome.

The Boston Celtics will head to Rome to conduct training camp at the PalaLottomatica during the first week of October and play an exhibition game against the Toronto Raptors at the arena on Saturday, October 6 whilst the Toronto Raptors will conduct training camp in Treviso before their matchup with the Celtics at the PalaLottomatica on Oct 6 and Lottomotica Roma on Sunday, October 7.

Tickets for NBA Europe Live in Italy will be on sale in May. The event will signal a return home for Andrea Bargnani of the Toronto Raptors who hails from Italy. The first European to have been selected with the number one pick in the NBA Draft, direct from Europe, Bargnani is a key member of the Raptors and this will mark his first trip to Italy with his NBA team. The Boston Celtics are sure to bring intensity and excitement to their game in the Italian capital led by five-time NBA All-Star Paul Pierce and NBA Legend Robert Parish was on-hand in Italy today for the event announcement.

NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, which will see four NBA teams travel to six Europe cities in four countries, will also visit the Spanish cities of Madrid and Malaga; London, England and the Turkish city of Istanbul this autumn. After the 2007 NBA Europe Live Tour, NBA teams will have played 41 games in 15 cities throughout Europe over the past two decades. The inaugural NBA Europe Live visited seven cities in five countries and drew more than 36 million viewers, 115,000 spectators, and 18 marketing partners in October 2006.
