NBA Europe Live Presented by EA Sports™ Cologne

In celebration of the announcement for NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, NBA executives this week continued on their tour of five of the participating European cities. After a visit to Rome on Tuesday, there was an NBA contingent in Barcelona, Spain and in Cologne, Germany on Wednesday. In Cologne, the group, including NBA legend Dominique Wilkins and Peter Fink, NBA Vice President, Events and Attractions, took part in a local press conference at Kölnarena with Mayor Fritz Schramma of Cologne and Bernd Assenmacher, CEO of Kölnarena The group exchanged ceremonial gifts, including personalized jerseys and signed balls from the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns. In October 2006, the 76ers and the Suns along with the Clippers and Spurs, will travel to Europe to conduct training camps and compete against top European basketball clubs. Cologne will host the event's finale that will feature games between the 76ers and Suns and the 2005-06 Euroleague Basketball Champion vs the Euroleague Basketball runner-up. The winners and runners-up of each game will then compete against each other to determine the Champions.
