Germany's Dirk Nowitzki. France's Tony Parker. Russia's Andrei Kirilenko. The three stars were among a host of NBA players to hit the hardwood at Eurobasket 2005 in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro.

Nowitzki and Germany reached the championship game, but in a surprise, Greece took home the gold medal with a 78-62 victory. Nowitzki finished with 23 points and nine rebounds in the contest.

Greece and Germany reached the gold-medal game with thrilling one-point victories the day before. Greece edged Parker and France 67-66, while Nowitzki scored 27 points, including the game-winning shot in the closing seconds, to lift Germany past Spain 74-73.

France bounced back behind Parker's 25 points to defeat Spain 98-63 for the bronze medal.
