			A Dream Season The Finals have never gone eight games. Contests played in December don’t typically have much bearing on the outcome of the championship series in June, either. But the Dec. 2, 1993 matchup between the Rockets and Knicks was the unofficial tipoff of the ’94 NBA Finals. The Rockets were looking to make history and the Knicks were determined to halt it. The 148 points scored by the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the 1985 Finals is not only the record for one Finals game, but also was 33 points above their season average!
