Kawhi Goes Ka-razy

June 21 -- Before the 2013 NBA Finals began, we provided hopeful Finals dunkers with a pep talk of sorts, encouraging them to give us a jam we could and would always remember from the championship series.

Kawhi Leonard, thanks for listening, man.

Arguably the best slam of The Finals, the Spurs' young star-in-the-making rose to the occasion and rose a little more after making mid-air contact with Mike Miller before throwing down a thunderous jam in Game 6.

Like Paul George before him, however, the momentum of Leonard's slam ultimately did not translate into a series win as the Spurs fell to the defending champion Heat in seven hard-fought games.

Not to be outdone by Leonard's Finals showcase, 2012-13 Dunk Ladder champ DeAndre Jordan is still making plenty of noise for his devastating alley-oop over Brandon Knight. The highlight play got even more recognition after it was recently awarded the Social Slam Award during NBA TV's Social Media Awards.

Like Jordan, we'll more than likely be talking about Leonard's facial for a while as we enter the NBA offseason. We've got a long summer ahead of us, but if you're like me, we're already bracing and preparing for what is sure to be a jam-packed 2013-14 season.

Got The Internet Goin' Nuts : March 10, 2013

Our hearts are heavy for Brandon Knight after this one (and for his previous misfortune at All-Star weekend and subsequent ankle injury a day after this play). Outside of the dunk's height and ferocity, I am always amazed at the way the left-handed Jordan throws it down with his right hand. Nasty... Just nasty.

Rapt With Rap : Feb. 12, 2013

At this point, Timofey Mozgov has to be wondering, "Can't we all just get along?" The Denver big man falls victim again as DeMar DeRozan cocks back and absolutely goes into annihilation mode.

Oops Upside Your Head : March 6, 2013

This is one of those alley-oops where it's nearly a crime to try to separate the pass from the finish. Jamal Crawford brings the playground to the NBA while Blake Griffin tops it off with a ferocious windmill. There's just too much fun going on in Clipperland.

Two At The Same Time : Feb. 5, 2013

"Kobe Bryant, slam dunk giant." Kobe seemed to have dunks like this on the regular way back when (Dwight and Yao should know from experience). Like MJ before him, Kobe has adjusted his game over time and continues to remain dominate from the ground, but apparently he and the sky are still buddies.

Here, You Take It : Dec. 17, 2012

There's none of the "Did he touch the rim or not?" or "Was it an offensive foul?" talk this time around. This is just pure athleticism and power as Blake Griffin throws down a thunderous game-closing alley-oop.

Bay Areaaaaa : Nov. 24, 2012

Let's see... Powerful facial? Check. Added impact from jumping off two feet? Check. Glaring stare-down that suggests a "Now what?" mentality? Check. The real kicker? As Top Plays Ladder CEO Zettler Clay observes, the bench reaction was everything.

From Way Back : April 12, 2013

Nothing says 'I'm about to bring the pain' quite like a high-flyer who cocks the basketball back with a vengeance. Blazers rookie Will Barton didn't play any games with this one as he proves why it's always a wise decision when attacking the basket to go hard.

8
Royal Flush : Jan. 12, 2013

Whether he makes it look easy or not, nothing LeBron James does is run-of-the-mill. Take this alley-oop for instance. Incredible height, added flair with the double-pump and, just for good measure, he throws it down in reverse.

Welcome Back : Nov. 14, 2012

It would be an understatement to say it's refreshing to see Jeff Green back in NBA action after having heart surgery and missing all of last season. I imagine it takes a lot of heart to detonate on heads like he did to Al Jefferson. Glad to see you back, Jeff.

10
Byron's Mulligan : Dec. 3, 2012

One of the first lessons every young basketball player is taught is to follow their shot. Charlotte's stretch big man Byron Mullens takes heed of the teaching and turns the rebound into a Kodak moment for LaMarcus Aldridge.
