Best of March
That's My Dog
March 12 -- Two is often times better than one.
It's especially true if we're talking about dunking duos. Sure, it's an absolute pleasure if you're a Clippers fan to have Blake Griffin on your team. But throw in DeAndre Jordan, the
newest leader on the Dunk Ladder, and you end up with a rare combination of
tag-team
jams.
Teams are lucky if they have someone of a high dunking caliber like Dominique Wilkins or Shawn Kemp. But can you imagine if they had a contemporary by their side like Michael Jordan had
Scottie Pippen? Or what about Julius Erving and his backboard-breaking teammate
Darryl Dawkins? Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady in Toronto. Clyde Drexler and
Jerome Kersey in Portland. And we can't forget about the new school's version down in Miami.
Fans, this is a treat and I think we should be appreciative of the show we get to see from Lob City on any given night. Not because of what Griffin or DeAndre Jordan can do individually. But because they are top-notch dunkers who happen to be on the same team. We just don't get to see that too often.
Dunk Ladder readers, what do you think? Is the Griffin-Jordan combo one of the best dunking duos ever? What other duos come to mind, both past and present? Share your thoughts by writing us at NBADunkLadder@turner.com.
