Automatically eligible for the 2010 NBA Draft after electing to play professionally in 2009-10.

 

Career Highlights: Became the NBA Development League's first player drafted directly from high school after being selected by the Tulsa 66ers with the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NBA Developmental League Draft. Helped the 66ers to a Finals appearance and finished 13th in the D-League in rebounding as a rookie.

 

2009-10: Playing for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League, averaged 7.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 20.5 minutes per game. Shot .528 from the field and started 9-of-47 games.  Ranked 13th in the league in rebounding and 20th in field goal percentage. Helped Tulsa reach the D-League Finals before losing to Rio Grande Valley. In that series, registered 13 points, 13 rebounds and two steals in Game 1 and 14 points and eight rebounds in Game 2. Had 19 points (7-8 FGs) and nine rebounds in a series-clinching win over Iowa in the Conference Finals. Averaged 11.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 19.7 minutes per game over seven postseason games. During the regular season, tallied a season-high 25 points (10-13 FGs) and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes at Idaho. Had nine points, a personal-best 19 rebounds (9 off.) and three blocks in 32 minutes at Reno. Collected 18 points (8-12 FGs), 18 rebounds and three blocks vs. Iowa.  Recorded 19 points (9-13 FGs) and 16 rebounds in 31 minutes vs. Albuquerque. Posted 20 points (7-10 FGs) and 10 rebounds vs. Iowa. Contributed 19 points and seven rebounds at Bakersfield. Tallied 17 points and eight rebounds in his 66ers debut in a preseason contest vs. Iowa.

  

High School: Averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks, four assists and four steals for Christian Life Center in Humble, Texas as a senior in 2008-09. As a junior, averaged 19.9 points, 14.5 rebounds and 5.0 blocks in for Starkville High in Mississippi. Led Starkville to the Class 5A state semifinals.

 

Strengths: Excellent athlete. Good rebounder. Extremely active. Showed development as the season progressed.

 

Personal: As a high school senior, originally committed to play basketball at University of Memphis before electing to play in the NBA D-League.
