The 2008 Naismith and Parade Magazine Player of the Year as a high school senior at Oak Hill Academy. Originally committed to play Division I basketball at Arizona before electing to turn pro and join a team in Europe.
Averaged 5.5 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals in 17.0 minutes in 27 Italian League games with Lottomatica Virtus Roma. Scored in double figures four times, including 14 points vs. Fortitudo, 13 vs. Angelico, 12 vs. Carife and 11 vs. Banca Tercas. Had seven assists vs. Snaidero and six steals vs. Angelico. In Euroleague competition, averaged 7.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 19.0 minutes over 16 appearances. Scored a season-high 17 points vs. Unicaja. Registered 14 points in 18 minutes vs. Union Olimpija and 13 points twice vs. Tau Ceramica.
Averaged 35.5 points, 6.8 assists and 3.2 steals as a senior at Oak Hill Academy in 2007-08. Earned National Player of the Year honors from Naismith, Parade Magazine, EA Sports and Max Preps. Set an Oak Hill Academy record for single-season point total (1,312) and scoring average (35.5 ppg). Made 13 three-pointers vs. Bonner Academy (NC) as he broke a 27-year old school record for points in one game with 63.
Competed in the McDonald's All-American Contest, tallying 12 points and dishing out nine assists. At the Jordan Brand Classic, posted 10 points and an event-record 14 assists as he earned Co-MVP honors. Began his prep career at Dominguez High School (Calif.) before transferring to Oak Hill as a junior.
Started 17 games and averaged 15.8 minutes per contest. Recorded two point-rebound double-doubles, including a 15-point, 14-rebound performance against Notre Dame. Ranked second on the team in blocks with 40.

Personal:Donated $50,000 to the National Italian American Foundation's (NIAF)/Abruzzo Relief Fund after a devastating earthquake in the town of L'Aquila and other small towns in central Italy in the region of Abruzzo left 298 dead and 65,000 homeless.
