An early entry candidate for the 2009 NBA Draft. Originally an early entry candidate for the 2008 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration.
Has played in his native Israel his entire career. Grew up with Hapoel Holon but moved on to Maccabi Tel Aviv where he made his professional debut in 2005-06. Loaned to Hapoel Galil Elyon for the 2006-07 season before returning to Maccabi Tel Aviv for 2007-08, where his current teammates include former NBA players Carlos Arroyo, Dee Brown and Marcus Brown. A member of the Israeli U20 National Team. Averaged 17.9 points and 4.8 rebounds at the 2007 European U20 Championships in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Led team with 21.4 points and 7.1 rebounds at the 2006 European U18 Championships in Amaliada, Greece. Averaged 14.0 points and 5.2 rebounds at the 2005 European U18 Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Scored 14 points for the World Select Team at the 2007 Nike Hoop Summit held in Memphis, Tennessee. Averaged 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10.5 minutes over six games in the 2008 European Championships.
Averaged 12.7 points and 4.6 rebounds for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israeli Premier League over the first 19 games. Had 27 points vs. Rishon LZ. Also tallied 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting vs. Rishon earlier in the season. In 16 Euroleague contests, posted 8.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17.3 minutes. Poured in 19 points in 22 minutes at Le Mans.
