Only player in the nation to average better than 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 2009. Also ranked in the SEC top 10 in nine of 13 possible categories during conference play. Ranks third in UF history in career assists (452) in only two seasons. Broke the UF records for assists and average assists in each of his two seasons, totaling 221 (6.1 apg) as a freshman and 231 (6.4 apg) as a sophomore.

Named the SEC Newcomer of the Year, co-SEC Freshman of the Year and All-SEC Second Team. An NABC and USBWA All-District selection. Led UF in scoring (15.3 ppg). Set UF freshman records for points (552), assists (221, 1st in SEC), average assists (6.1 apg, 1st in SEC), and free throws made (144) and attempted (199). Started all 36 games and scored in double figures 31 times. Had 24 points, including 13 free throws, with eight assists and eight rebounds vs. Kentucky. Tallied 15 points, eight assists and nine rebounds at Tennessee. Went 7-of-11 from the field en route to 16 points, five rebounds and five assists in NIT first round vs. San Diego State. Strengths: Versatile playmaker with an excellent feel for the game. Sees the floor exceptionally well. Keeps defenders off balance with deceptive quickness and ability to change speeds. Knows how to run a team.
Personal: Son of John Calathes and Dee McCord. Has two brothers, John and Pat, who played collegiately at St. Joseph's and currently plays for Maroussi of the Greek League. Became third player in state of Florida to earn the Mr. Basketball award twice. Teamed with Gator teammate Chandler Parsons to help Lake Howell HS claim the state title in 2007.
