Career Highlights:

Only player in the nation to average better than 15.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 2009. Also ranked in the SEC top 10 in nine of 13 possible categories during conference play. Ranks third in UF history in career assists (452) in only two seasons. Broke the UF records for assists and average assists in each of his two seasons, totaling 221 (6.1 apg) as a freshman and 231 (6.4 apg) as a sophomore.

Sophomore (2008-09):

All-SEC First Team selection. Led the Gators in scoring (17.8 ppg), assists (6.4 apg) and steals (68). Scored 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting and dished out seven assists vs. Syracuse. Recorded 21 points and eight assists vs. Washington. Recorded 32 points vs. NC State. Had 19 points and eight assists in SEC opener vs. Ole Miss. Connected on a career-high six three-pointers en route to 28 points and 10 rebounds vs. Arkansas. Recorded FU's first triple-double in SEC play with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Georgia. Poured in 33 points at Kentucky to reach 1,000th point. Recorded 16 points, a career-high 13 assists and nine rebounds at Georgia. Tallied 11 points, six rebounds and seven assists vs. Arkansas in first round of SEC Tournament. Followed with seven points, 11 rebounds and five assists vs. Auburn in second round. Led the Gators with 19 points and six assists in first round of the NIT vs. Jacksonville. Recorded 21 points and seven assists in NIT second round vs. Miami. Finished with 10 points and seven assists vs. Penn State.

Freshman (2007-08):

Named the SEC Newcomer of the Year, co-SEC Freshman of the Year and All-SEC Second Team. An NABC and USBWA All-District selection. Led UF in scoring (15.3 ppg). Set UF freshman records for points (552), assists (221, 1st in SEC), average assists (6.1 apg, 1st in SEC), and free throws made (144) and attempted (199). Started all 36 games and scored in double figures 31 times. Had 24 points, including 13 free throws, with eight assists and eight rebounds vs. Kentucky. Tallied 15 points, eight assists and nine rebounds at Tennessee. Went 7-of-11 from the field en route to 16 points, five rebounds and five assists in NIT first round vs. San Diego State. Recorded the second triple-double in school history with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists vs. Creighton in NIT second round. Followed with 11 points, nine assists and six boards vs. Arizona State. Finished with 12 points and seven rebounds vs. UMass in the NIT semifinal.

Strengths: Versatile playmaker with an excellent feel for the game. Sees the floor exceptionally well. Keeps defenders off balance with deceptive quickness and ability to change speeds. Knows how to run a team.

Personal: Son of John Calathes and Dee McCord. Has two brothers, John and Pat, who played collegiately at St. Joseph's and currently plays for Maroussi of the Greek League. Became third player in state of Florida to earn the Mr. Basketball award twice. Teamed with Gator teammate Chandler Parsons to help Lake Howell HS claim the state title in 2007.
