Career Highlights:

Named Big West Conference Player of the Year as a senior. Earned NABC All-District First Team honors as a senior. Earned Second Team All-Big West honors and Second Team NABC All-District honors as a junior. Ranks seventh all-time at Cal State Fullerton with 1,411 career points. Also ranks second in three-pointers made (252) and second in scoring average (22.0 ppg). Played his first two seasons at Washington State before transferring to Cal State Fullerton.

Senior (2008-09):

Ranked sixth in nation in scoring (23.9 ppg) and seventh in free-throw percentage (.892), both the best on his team. Also ranked second on team in three-point percentage (.372) and third in steals (1.0 spg). Scored 764 points in the season to set a school record. Scored in double figures in 31 of 32 games, surpassing 20 points 20 times and surpassing 30 points six times. Scored a career-high 41 points twice, against Hawaii and Cal State Bakersfield, hitting 15-of-15 free throws against the latter. Scored 37 points in Big West Tournament win over UC Riverside, setting a tournament record. Dished out a career-high seven assists against UC Davis.

Junior (2007-08):

Led team in scoring (20.2 ppg) and free-throw percentage (.899). Also ranked second in three-point percentage (.393), second in steals (1.4 spg), and fourth in rebounding (3.3 rpg). Scored in double figures in 29 of 32 games, including a season-high 31 points three times, against Wisconsin, Furman, and Cal State Los Angeles. Dished out a season-high six assists against Portland State while also scoring 26 points on the game.

Sophomore (2005-06):

Led team in scoring (10.3 ppg) and three-point percentage (.372), while also ranking second in free-throw percentage (.795). Started 13 of 28 games played. Scored a season-high 27 points against Washington and 25 points against UCLA.

Freshman (2004-05):

Played in 27 games, averaging 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds. Scored a season-high 15 points against UCLA and 12 points against Gonzaga.

Strengths: Quick and crafty scoring guard with a deadly jump shot. Equally effective with his shot when pulling up off the dribble, and possesses very deep range.

Personal: Son of Emmanuel and Alfreda Akognon. Majoring in Sport Management and hopes to eventually become a coach.
