Career Highlights: Grew up playing in his native Congo with the Avenir du Rail club before coming over to Europe. Was scheduled to play with ES Prisse Macon in the French N2 League in 2006-07, but did not play due to transfer problems and played with DKV Joventut in the Circuito Sub-20, a four-phase competition organized by the Spanish basketball leagues separate from their regular seasons. Moved on to C.B. LíHospitalet in the Spanish LEB Gold league in 2007-08. Scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds for the World Select Team at the 2008 Nike Hoop Summit held in Portland, Oregon. A member of the Congolese National Team. Was named the MVP of the 2006 U18 African Championships held in Durban, South Africa.
2007-08: Averaging 11.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.0 blocked shots through 32 games for C.B. LíHospitalet in the Spanish LEB Gold league. Posted 27 points and 11 rebounds vs. Alicante Costa Blanca. Tallied 14 points and 15 rebounds vs. Basket Cai Zaragoza. Registered 10 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots vs. Ciudad de La Laguna Canarias.
2006-07: Averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots in four games with DKV Joventut in the Final Phase of the Circuito Sub-20.
Strengths: Physical specimen with an abundance of raw athletic ability. Possesses an outstanding vertical leap for a taller player and gets off the floor quickly. Has range on his face-up jumper.
Personal: Parents were both basketball players. Has 17 siblings. Lived with his grandmother during the civil unrest in the Congo in the mid-to-late Ď90s in a house with no electricity or running water. Learned the game playing on outdoor courts wearing shoes with cardboard inserts to cover the holes in the soles.
